    Carrier cutting rates

I don't see any exodus of straight trucks from E1. Almost all if not all companies are putting on straight trucks, so I would think that if E1 people don't like this, they would just go somewhere else. But they must like it. "Drive more, make less."

One of the dumbest things I ever tried or How Not To Heat A Van

Sure, but the air sucked in by the generator will rapidly be replaced with fresh outside air through the van's air vents. Like other people have mentioned, I would be more concerned about an exhaust leak that can be fatal.

    Walmart cell phone plan

Be careful about straight talk and their coverage. I used to think that straight talk phone on Verizon network was the best thing ever. Not so, because a straight talk phone will not roam on other towers. As a result you have no coverage at all in western half of Kentucky. If you go north on 65...

    Gas sprinters

I see that you are trying to find excuses to buy the thing. If you really really want to buy it, go ahead, but keep in mind what you read on here. And, don't be fooled. The only Chrysler thing on the van is the badge. All else is MB, including the engine.

    Gas sprinters

They have Mercedes engine in them. Gas mileage is nor great, I forget the number now, and they require premium gas. I personally wouldn't bother with one. Sent from my PC36100 using EO Forums mobile app

    Sulfur/Fuel Additives

Over 525k miles additive free in my 2004 Sprinter. Why waste your money? I will only use anti gel if I go somewhere really really cold. Sent from my PC36100 using EO Forums

How common is overloading vans and Sprinters?

I can legally put a bit over 3000 lbs on my sprinter since I don't have a bunk and I only carry minimal personal stuff. BUT, I have it listed at 2500 lbs. I had a few 2500 lbs loads and I did not like it. More stress on everything. I can't imagine how it would look with 4000 lbs in the back...

    2013 Ford Van Photos

Ken, to be honest, haven't looked at Sprinter prices lately. I am nor interested in the diesel guzzling, def injecting NCV3. I love the T1N. Last time I looked it was around 47k. Sent from my PC36100 using EO Forums

Great. Now the only thing left is for Ford to offer a 6 speed manual transmission and I would have to part with my beloved sprinter and get one of these. Sent from my PC36100 using EO Forums

How Do Cargo Van Drivers Make Money At 70 Cents Per Mile?

The Future of Expediting; Yes or No?

Guido, I agree with you 100%. But I don't fault these poor drivers. Most of them are honest, but ignorant folks that are trying to make a living. I blame the companies that will knowingly overload them. Sad, but the mighty buck speaks. Sent from my PC36100 using EO Forums

    Van Parking @ the Detroiter

Haha, good one, but not necessary. I stopped there once since they didn't let us park up front any more. I don't like parking next to idling big trucks, nor do I like taking one of their spots. I didn't complain when they changed their policy. I just stopped going there. No problem, I found...

The Future of Expediting; Yes or No?

One of them that I talked to got pulled over on back roads, either IN or OH (US 30 maybe) by DOT with portable scales, got a big ticket, bit wasn't put out of service. Sent from my PC36100 using EO Forums

The Future of Expediting; Yes or No?

I have seen many down in laredo, and talked with a few of them. All that I talked to were getting 10 mpg, and running for lower rates than I am. Some of them run overweight, and some got pulled over, weighed and ticketed. I don't see them staying in business for long. The problem is, if one goes...

    fuel additives

Never used an additive, and I have been in temps as low as -5. Never had a problem in more than 500k miles. Now, if I ever have to drive in temps lower than that, I will add some.
