    FECC Contest - PITIFULL !!!

I posted in response to other fedex drivers . Saying that "some like them and some don't" doesn't to me, equal bashing. If you took it that way, then I quess it is bashing. With regards to other posts, my information comes right from some of our moderators who drive for fedex, your fedex freight...

    Box Floors

On the underside, you may want to spot weld a piece of sheetmetal. Alittle lighter and won't rot. If it gets too rusting, reheat, remove old, and replace with another sheet. Other places that show wear I would spray with a decent quality rubberized undercoating. Davekc owner 21 years

Kinda Funny if you Think About it.

I thought they could go a pretty good while as well? Davekc

    FECC Contest - PITIFULL !!!

Based on this thread I think all can agree that some like FedEx and some don't. What is amazing is that no one endorses or supports their contest. Again, maybe they would serve their fleet better by using those funds to cover unprofitable runs, rather than serving the interests of a few. Drivers...

    FECC Contest - PITIFULL !!!

I would agree with Lawrence. If you don't like the offers, refuse them. Some put too much value on acceptance rates. They mean nothing if you are going broke. Loads that average .60 to a $1.00 a mile is one that is going broke, if accepting these with any consistency. I am not sure you are at...

Who is the best Los Angeles based Carrier?

Panther has the best system for this. Landstar lets you find your own loads as well but I believe they still require 6 months current experience in what you will driving. Davekc

    Fleet owners

As with any business, if the end will justify the means, then absolutely. If it doesn't, you will have to pack up your toys and play somewhere else. Davekc owner 21 years

That is a older version. I believe it is too dated for todays use. Davekc

    Fed Ex CC or PantherII

You would do better to find your own account(s) within CA. It will likely pay better. Running with your own authority a few days a week is not practical. You will likely go broke. Better to drive part time for a local or regional company. Davekc

Who is the best Los Angeles based Carrier?

For expediting, it would be the large carriers. No particular order This applies to straight trucks and TT's. I wouldn't even consider it if doing a van Panther Fedex Landstar and maybe Conway?? Not sure how well they do on outbound loads from the west coast. Many of the smaller carriers go...

    Forklifts in the Van Body

In the past, we have always put a load bar in the back. Also one just forward of the rear wheels. Most loads seldom fill the truck so it keeps their travel (forklift) to a minumum. Side note on rollups. Make sure you coat the bottom of the door with a light gage oil so it doesn't freeze shut...

    FECC Contest - PITIFULL !!!

Team Drivers2 wrote I've noticed over the course of the last 3 1/2 weeks that load offers are getting totally ridiculous. I've been offered 20+ runs that are averaging .60 to 1.00 a mile with deadheads ranging from 250 to 375 miles Those are some sad numbers. I think contests are fine but not...

    Airtabs, Airtabs, whos got Airtabs?

I can't speak to any fuel economy improvement, but they do keep the back of a trailer or box alittle cleaner. Seems like they cut trailer sway down just a little. As mentioned, it would seem it would work on a staight truck as well. For $200.00, I would be willing to try them on one straight...

    Custom Sleeper/Volvo Monsters

I checked it out. Nice ride. I think the Volvo would make a great RV. Way too heavy to use as an expediter unless they wave all the weight restrictions. They are a very heavy chassis. They do work well as a tractor. So far, we have had good luck with them as a tractor. Davekc

    New Hours of Service.

These new rules will certainly be a burden to the solo driver. I agree as well that run selection for many will likely change. As far as teams, it depends on how they run. I suspect that how they are running and how they log will not match. This is just another example of rule making from...

    >Boy, Dave KC you either have a lot of time on you're hands >or are really desperate to defend Bush et al., OR BOTH. Plenty of time on my hands, but the information was forwarded to me. RE: Truth in the eyes of the beholder... Now I can understand that finding a professional bus driver may be hard, but come on – you mean out of 10,000 people who wanted to get out there isn’t one person who can drive a bus in an emergency Hard to tell what is true and isn't at times. My...
