On the underside, you may want to spot weld a piece of sheetmetal. Alittle lighter and won't rot. If it gets too rusting, reheat, remove old, and replace with another sheet. Other places that show wear I would spray with a decent quality rubberized undercoating. Davekc owner 21 years

I would agree with Lawrence. If you don't like the offers, refuse them. Some put too much value on acceptance rates. They mean nothing if you are going broke. Loads that average .60 to a $1.00 a mile is one that is going broke, if accepting these with any consistency. I am not sure you are at...

Panther has the best system for this. Landstar lets you find your own loads as well but I believe they still require 6 months current experience in what you will driving. Davekc

You would do better to find your own account(s) within CA. It will likely pay better. Running with your own authority a few days a week is not practical. You will likely go broke. Better to drive part time for a local or regional company. Davekc

For expediting, it would be the large carriers. No particular order This applies to straight trucks and TT's. I wouldn't even consider it if doing a van Panther Fedex Landstar and maybe Conway?? Not sure how well they do on outbound loads from the west coast. Many of the smaller carriers go...

In the past, we have always put a load bar in the back. Also one just forward of the rear wheels. Most loads seldom fill the truck so it keeps their travel (forklift) to a minumum. Side note on rollups. Make sure you coat the bottom of the door with a light gage oil so it doesn't freeze shut...

I checked it out. Nice ride. I think the Volvo would make a great RV. Way too heavy to use as an expediter unless they wave all the weight restrictions. They are a very heavy chassis. They do work well as a tractor. So far, we have had good luck with them as a tractor. Davekc
