We've never had them on any trucks we've driven and we've not even had a close encounter (knock on wood) That being said, since we are smokers, we run with the windows partially open most of the time. I wonder if that has something to do with it?

Cheri brings up a great point. Some things are more difficult to do when you have a pet. In addition, we idle (use the generator) now for the comfort of our pet when we are out of the truck, where we might not have had to before.

How sad. I always try to make eye contact with the driver, and never walk close to the front of a truck at the fuel island.

There are shipper/receivers that do not allow pets on their property. If you are a team, a co-driver can wait outside with the pet. That's what we do. I have seen drivers with pets leave the pet tied up or in a crate outside the gate, but I could never do that.

Noticeably absent is our dear leader. :mad: But, hey, it doesn't put HIM in the spotlight so it must not be important.
