My point was anybody with that work ethic generally gets into their own truck. Then there’s those who get into their own truck and stay out like that because they can’t afford to go home. In another thread I told of a young couple, young and new to trucking that did $300,000 in their first 12...

Truck loan with poor credit / good pay history / down payment /

DND, Truck financing is very tough. For experienced drivers buying first truck, tough. For inexperienced drivers, almost impossible. There are sharks out there willing to take advantage of your position, as you’ve found out. It’s risky. You open a dog training facility and default, they...

Interested in Driving For FedEx Custom Critical

I know a team of rookies, young, energetic, and new to trucking, that did over $300,000 in their first 12 month’s at FedEx. They thought, why give the owner 40% when we do all the work. They promptly bought their own truck. My last TVal truck was at $208,000 after 8 month’s. Cruising to...

Interested in Driving For FedEx Custom Critical

You keep saying Go to Load One and make more money. Yet every time I ask how much I hear crickets. I can believe there are a lot of positives about working at L1, why do we never hear real numbers ? Not the killer loads, but total miles/ total income per year type numbers. Geo keeps saying go...

New guy, one long question to get things started

I totally agree with LDB. Save up some $$$$ and go to school to get a class A CDL. Community Colleges sometimes have affordable courses. Then you can easily find part time work on your days off. Keep your day job / benefits and get some Road time.

    when you are retiring

Actually her GIRLFRIEND needs to read it. She may have gotten good advice if she took her retirement before full retirement age. If she waited, she probably did get bad advice.

    when you are retiring

Hope she got good advice from someone competent. Part timers, like H&R Block sometimes get it wrong. I had a CPA recommended by a friend that owned a drugstore, do me wrong. I called my new accountant who couldn’t find see me for 6 month’s. We filed an extension, and sent 50% of what the first...

    when you are retiring

If it does, it’ll be of interest to plenty of us short timers. Seems to be quite a fewer old farts here trying to game plan the next chapters. I don’t have the people skills to work at Speedway or FD.
