Runrunner is right. Don't take the first thing offered unless it is team miles. But even then look at where it is going. If it is going to texas factor in the miles and how long you will sit there waiting for another load.

How long expediting? It's possible you started at their slow time. Every company has them. 2 months isn't long enough to know but it should pick up after January.

I have had checks that size expediting. Many companies start training pay at $450-$600 a week. They offer the license and training while still getting paid. Maybe they can do better but maybe they want to do this. Expedite is so sketchy at least with general freight there is plenty of loads.

If you are an expedite o/o you can do alright. But driving for someone you can make more in truckload. $.24 cpm is not great money and that is about all I've made driving for fleet owner.

We had the same problem when I drove for ES. They sent me to thermo king in St. Louis where they ripped it apart and cleaned the screen inside it. It quit smoking after that. When it was smoking it was a strong fuel smell.

My volvo has a loud jake brake and I kicked it on the other night going down a 7% grade and then it went right back off. It scared the hell out of me when it started roaring. Btw I get over at the first sign of a lane closure.
