    Axle weight

Nope figures are correct. Up rears are 15460, down 16680. I am going to a Freightliner on Monday and have them run a component sheet on this truck. I want to be sure of the axle capacity of the steer axles. There are stickers allllll over the thing with different weights. I want to confirm that...

Yes, it is a '22 box and it is "116 from the center of the drives to the back of the truck. It is a belly mount reefer, a pusher axle. I do lose a little on fuel millage. Layoutshooter

    Axle weight

I doubt if we can move the axle 12 inches. I am going to look into moving fuel tanks and batteries. Maybe the APU. I can run with the lift axle down to stay legal and still work till I figure this thing out. How hard is it to make this into a 3 axle truck? Not a twin screw but a weight bearing...

    Axle weight

That was with a full fuel load, twin 80's. All our water bottles full, 6 gallons. Food, clothes, etc. Both of us in the truck. I can move some of the stuff to the cargo box but not enough to pick up 2000lbs. The only way I can figure to do that is move the axles, or tanks, or batteries and APU...

I did take the chains out. I will fix this if it kills me. There is no way I can sell it right now. I will take some pics and up load them. Might have to make this a 3 axle truck. That would fix if for sure. Maybe if I lose some weight? Layoutshooter

Important Ruling on In Cab Laptops pending

We use a laptop GPS system. It has been a great tool. We input our routing, check it against routing supplied by our carrier, check it all on our atlas and run that. It has saved us money. When locals are bad, we find the place using less fuel. They are tools, nothing else. Used wrong, they are...

    Another Freightliner horror story

Good luck as you work on the truck specs, keep us informed. I am sure there will be many watching to see how things go. I know I will. We are a long way from a new truck, but, you never know. At least things will feel a bit better in our truck. Our new seasts are in and we get them installed on...

I don't know if it is the M2 being the problem or the shoddy service at most Freightliner dealers. Most I have been to have been "replace and see" shops. There seems to be fewer and fewer mechanics and more and more part swappers. Layoutshooter

Ok, I will check them out too. I wish this had happened when it was in the shop in Albany. They seemed like they know what they are doing. Layoutshooter

    Wide Singles

I am still concerned about winter traction. Maybe Bob and Linda can expound on that. When I was learning to drive a car the rule was wide tires for mub, narrow tires for snow. We always changed to 1 or 2 sizes narrower in the winter. Maybe with new compounds that rule no longer holds true? This...

It is a shame but I guess this is our fault, sort of. You at least went to legal proceedings on yours, I might end up having to. Everyone who has had these kind of problems should go after Freightliner. It is begining to look like it is more than the dealers. Of course, dealing with a forgien...

Thanks, I will look into it. I was asking about the Lima shop since that is were my seats are coming in. I am willing to go "almost" anywhere to get this other thing fixed. It is costing me about 1/4 to 1/2 mpg. That is adding up fast. Not to mention that god-awful noise and loss of power...

Looks like you got it moved!!! I guess warning the newbies was cool too. I should have thought of that, I would have been a hero!!!! The Freightliner in Albany did a good job on the frayed wire problem we had. Most of the almost $400 was in labor. I could not argue that one, electrical problems...

Thanks, this is getting to be expensive. Would not mind the cost if the repairs worked. I must be getting goofy, why did I put this in the newbies? I meant to put it in truck talk. Guess I have been driving too much. Layoutshooter

Jan's CDL expires on the 23rd so we planned to take next week off. Doctors, dentists, Father's Day, D.O.T., new shocks etc etc etc. Should be back in...
