Maybe "compete" is the wrong wording....
but getting paid to have an empty field really helps the bottom line.....Like getting paid DH on every load....
When around Dallas I would..if ya can believe it...DH down to Laredo....LOL when I was with E-1...
Actually I;'d go as far as San ant. and get paid to go the rest of the way....the 25 or so bucks almost pays the entire 435 miles....
The farm subsidies actually allow the smaller family run farm to compete against the company operated farm as well...
by paying for vacant land it allows for crop rotation to recharge the soil..while still making an income...
JuJu and I did just over 5 years in an little ole cargo van...and the stories she could tell....LOL
It sure did present of "How close did we want to get?"
