R rating? I am a dunce when it comes to that!*lol* I used that pink sheet about 1/2-3/4 in stuff as well they have smaller bundles of 1/4" to build up to a level to the cross members. I used self tapping screws and predrilled into the ribs. I also used 1" pine strapping the length of the van to...

is the van insulated? If not DO IT! Where are you sleeping? rear or drivers seat? In my 3/4t van I slept in the front...dropped a moving blanket to create a wall, cover as much glass as I could and ran a propane heater on the passenger seat one with a fan. And treid to park with my tail into...

oh..and what truck are we taking into the Big Apple? B.C.D.E. ? If you go in thru the Verazanno and out the GW there are no tolls except the Troggs Neck and white stone or whatever they call it. I've found NYC to be kinda wussy compared to Chicago. IMHO.

many variables here most importantly. Wheres this said load going to? AND how much for it? Are they paying the 200 mile deadhead?

    Delivery times..............

Yep. They'd prolly find a team first and if no team were available then a solo with a cross dock set-up bout half way, IF the customer needed it right away. Thats for C's and D's, for a van it's go straight thru.

    Sprinter Van Question

Got 103,000 miles on my 2005. Costs so far ONE headlight bulb 9.95 plus tax. No other problems. As was said in another post you gotta drive it a bit different. Its a Mercedes, it runs different. Mercedes has been making diesels before Detroit was a city. Don't try to run it like a North...

Can anyone really define slow or busy? I thinks it would be more of a personal needs thingee. I am only averaging 6g's a month since being an American driver compared to over 7g's being a Canuck go figure...That being said I'd say slow...others wpuld say I've been busy. Perspective. Yes...

Yep, I think the U.N should move out of the U.S. and take the thousand or so jobs to a country where they'd more more wanted. Besides the U.S. is so far behind on thier dues, they should loose the right to host world leaders. New York could do with losing more jobs. Besides Americans ticked at...

    2-Skid Cargo Van: Expediting Dinosaur??

Since getting our Sprinter we've been able to grab close too or exceed the monthly payment on upgraded loads. Dynamex has a standard van rate, a one Ton rate and will go to a C rate. We've gotten as high as $1.30/mile plus FSC for one load. Sure beats 77 cents Reasons for gettimng a Sprinter...

Question for Davekc but others can answer.

    >Ask your carrier how they do out of Minneapolis/St.Paul. Been there, done that...doesn't do well there. Wisconsin is better. Been with these guys 4 years I know where most of thier customers are in the midwest to the east coast.

Question for Davekc but others can answer.

Nope not P2...Dynamex you see they are a sponsor now? When my visa goes thru we are think of jumping to P2 or FDEXCC because we won't be trapped in the traditional lanes of a smaller company. We've been doing P2 loads out of the Chicago area and The 2 companies seem to get along well!

Question for Davekc but others can answer.

We now live in S. Dakota. When leaving home we currently drive to South Beloit to get back into the lanes. BUT Denver is only 5 hours away verses 16 hrs. Is there any freight out of or near Denver?

How is post-buyout P2 for you?

Your absolutely right Dave...Its funny how one truck can be busy when others appear to sit...hard to figure, but over a monthly basis it all should work out. Its like throwing a dart at the board! Now if your 1st up and your one hour away and a truck unloads around the corner from the your...
