Items that could improve Fuel Mileage

Ok Moot point taken eastern Iowa isn't as hilly as the west side...but none of the hills are that extreme and you shouldn't have to gear down on any of them...And it's true about a tail wind....My MPG's are up when coming back from Rapid City to Albert Lea when coming back into service...

Items that could improve Fuel Mileage

How are your SS tires working out? Any issues, problems, good feedback? Iowa is one of the flattest states and the wind is usually out of the west so you'd have a good tailwind. Only thing I can think of to support Phils thinking.

    Are you a thinker?

Are you a thinker? I try it once in awhile and it usually gets me in trouble. I have a Republican friend with the same problem and I want to share his testimony with you: It started out innocently enough. I began to think at parties now and then to loosen up. Inevitably though, one...

    Diesel Stolen While Driver Sleeps

I hope they make the locking caps better then when I was a teen...those caps they made for cars were a snap to pop off with the "right tool"!! The ones I've seen in the TS's don't look all that "secure" for someone who knows what they are doing. Better yet would be a cap linked to an alarm...

    Gasser Sprinter

From a 2009 review... The SLK 350 carries what Mercedes says is a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that has undergone a major overhaul and now produces 300 hp (32 more than the previous version) and 265 lb.-ft. of torque. However, Mercedes says the high-revving engine also provides better fuel economy and...

    Mexican Diesel

You know Canadian OTR's out west have been using extra tanks for years when coming into the U.S. of A. to buy our CHEAP diesel... And when Swift and Warner start crossing that Mexican border you can bet your butt they'll be fueling over there. Especially if you don't have to report to IFTA.

OOIDA says owners should pay idling fines

Talking about twinking..twice now I've gotten 27.74 and 27.78 mpg...soooo close to 28! Am looking for that extra .25! I think with fuel being what it is and no sign of dropping..APU's and Espars are going to be a must if one is going to survive. And of course www.airtab.com - The smart way to...

OOIDA says owners should pay idling fines

With the way the anti-idling laws are going I think all trucks for long distance work, aka have sleepers, should have APU's as standard equipment.
