    price of fuel

It used to be 3000-4000 miles a week, not even close to that now. I know I won't be paying 0.90 cents a gallon for diesel like natural gas BTW, I get paid in Canadian so 2.00 US costs me 2.65...here a US gallon costs about 3.40

    Canada I'm going nuts here

Turtle, in my opinion you should be writing the service manuals, the backs of the bottles, and the website for Mercedes, that post couldn't have been more clear, thank you. As for long internet searches, I've been mostly OOS due to family sickness and an unsuitable van since May 2 so I had the...

    Green diesel Sprinter tune

Anybody using the Green Diesel tune? EGR is dead and its decision time, fix or eliminate. My sprinter has to go for emissions, and they hook up to the OBD2 and access the computer, as well as opacity test. I've heard the GDE tune get good reviews on Sprinter-source and the MPG and EGR problems...

    Canada I'm going nuts here

Darn thought he had a secret. My ford 7.3 went a million, never touched a thing but oil filters...oil changes were between 10,000 and 30,000 MILES on Rotella T5 conventional I got lazy...transmission never touched, I had fluid exchange done 3 times...parked it because the steering column was...

    Canada I'm going nuts here

Mobil 1 0w40 indeed meets 229.3 and 229.5 in Canada. It wasn't on the bottle that I remember and it was under "builder approvals" not specs...thanks for steering me in the right direction

    Canada I'm going nuts here

Ridiculously long internet search shows only cars approved on the 228.31 spec (bevo), vans may use 228.3, 228.5, 228.51 or 229.3, 229.31, 229.5, 229.51, 229.52. So my guess is they don't consider 228.31 a truck oil for whatever reason. That's all that's available in the common parts stores that...

    Canada I'm going nuts here

In canada Mobil 1 0w40 is formulated by Imperial Oil (esso) and doesn't list any MB applications on the website...however Mobil 1 0w40 FS European Car Formula meets 229.3 and 229.5 (bevo says must use a fleece filter that doesn't exist in North America) Never seen FS on any bottle of Mobile 1...

    Canada I'm going nuts here

Thanks. Its my attempt to get it on the road by Monday that's causing me problems here...it would probably be worth shipping to me and paying duty, still cheaper. Can't believe parts stores here are so clueless (go to dealer we don't have it and cant get it) Wow there's a distributor 10 miles...

    Canada I'm going nuts here

Trying to be nice to my new aquisition, 2005 Sprinter and meet the MB specs...transmission fluid at the dealer is 31.41 a quart plus 13% HST...where do i get oil and trans fluid? Nothing off the shelf matches the spec sheets, I can get 228.31 for motor oil but its not on the list...too much crap...

Seeing that gasket, it looks like this thing wrapped around the front of the transmission like somebody wanted to keep a spare or something? Weird

2005 Sprinter second and reverse only

Talked at length with a transmission guy, speed sensors are supposed to drop to 0 in drive when not moving (duh!) I thought they were losing contact...he agrees with the common wisdom of connector first, if that doesn't work conductor plate...anybody following thread I was trained by Google :)...

2005 Sprinter second and reverse only

That and connector I what I'm trying first. Almost 700 at Dodge, getting one for 260 in toronto that's an MB plate...trying to get it running on Monday, all the offers lately seem to be 2 oversize skids...ordering from Europarts would take an unknown amount of time and a 30% duty to cross the...
