I wonder if more Truck Stop will pick up on this?

Truck stops are no longer in fact haven't been for a long time in the business to help make our lives on the road comfortable. The attitude is too often buy our fuel and merchandise and get lost, unless of corse you are driving an R.V. Just look at the fuel prices at the truck pumps and the RV...

    Wheelbase

Typically the longer you can stretch them out the better the ride however the issues are staying legal with axle weights and distances especially if you run in or out of New York city. If you run NYC freight call NYCDOT truck enforcement otherwise you may get saddled with permits or hefty fines...

    Allison transmission

Awesome!!!!! 1 million pluss clearly you take maintenance seriously like I do. I hope I get that many miles out of mine. I agree, changing the lines is cheaper than changing the trans.

    Allison transmission

Is the Delvac ATF your using full synthetic, synthetic blend, or Dextron based? Like I said synthetic ATF is far superior to dino based ATF.

    Allison transmission

Other than someone on the phone saying so what makes you think the transmission is the problem. If the trans crapped the bed in two years that is too soon. An Allison should be good for 350,000 to 400,000 miles and several years WITH PROPER MAINTENANCE.. Allison's are bullet proof by design but...

    Allison automatic

I'm, running an older truck with a 2000 series but the pan on any trans is only a small amount. I did a spin on, pan filter and refill and that took almost 4 gallons. that doesn't count the cooler and lines. 28 qts sounds about right for the trans, and cooler. In fact I think my fluid and filter...

    Allison automatic

depends on the pan depth, anywhere from 2 to 4 gallons, always check it when filling and after you start it and let it run for one or two minutes. There should be an ID tag on the case call an Allison shop with that number and they will give you better details.

    Big Truck MBE900 replacement

I would look at cummins if possible. Might be cheaper to maintain.

    Non stop sprinter repairs

Yes I'm sure Roudolph Diesel is ready to bust out of his grave with what the epa has done to his engine.

    Sprinter Engine Swap

If anything it would make an awesome project. I would check up on your state emissions inspection. Mechanically and drivability wise I would think it would be fine if all the emissions parts are there and working. You will have to carryout some creative wiring for the engine, transmission, and...

Conservatives will have a candidate in 2016.

True I just remembered, the independents prefer the tin foil hat wearing crazy uncle types. Hopefully the republicans don't but will most likely throw him under the bus and pick Mr. Milktoast Romney

    Non stop sprinter repairs

I would recommend having the head, head gasket, and EGR cooler and system checked. Just like a catalytic converter if you blow engine coolant or oil through it you will ruin it. I would recommend dumping it ASAP.

    Non stop sprinter repairs

What about passing a state safety and emissions inspection. Instant fail in New York, California, and other states are joining the masses soon.

Conservatives will have a candidate in 2016.

The republican wanabee conservatives need to eliminate the most likely to win contenders now so they can throw another election later. If Ted Cruz has any chance at all of winning an election he will jump ship now, let the right wing rats drown, and go independent. Ted, a lifeboat is still...

I want to bid on load boards.. HELP!

I'm an independent O/O a lot of guys here are leased to carriers and fleet owners so, don't take it personally if they give you a hard time. Most of us myself included will hold our better tricks of the trade close to the vest and might share some after seeing you around for a while. If you...

advantages and disadvantages of staying under 26,000 pounds

Even though it's a 2003 it's not rolling garbage. For its age it is a decent truck, as I stay on top of the maintenance. Bob Wolf

advantages and disadvantages of staying under 26,000 pounds

Under 2600 works if you're running a day cab locally or regionally and you are willing to buy hotel rooms. I run a 2003 international non cdl 26000 day cab lift gate and can carry just over 10000lbs. Legal. I plan on losing the lift gate so I might be able to scale close to 10500 - 10700 lbs...

    CB antenna

Best location is on the mirror brackets as far out as they will mount and not be a hazard. Mount them strait up pointing them slightly forward might gain a little but will increase the chances of breakage. Better bet is taller ideally but probably not realistically tall enough to clear the box...

    The Diet from zell.......................

Yet another potentially dangerous fad diet, they cause more harm to your body than good. When you starve yourself, your body will go into shock or "survival mode" this is bad because your body will turn any extra available calorie you don't burn to survive or that easy to turn to fat processed...
