My comment was more generic then specific.... Yep...I keep up on the rail improvements and the CSX upgrading ... I've pointed rail out here before and it keeps getting discounted as if who cares....I thinks that will bite some in the butt sooner then later...especially IF FMSCA cuts yet...

It is a lose, lose situation for a mod....if we let the thread go on as is...and it gets ugly, we get accused of letting it fester and not doing anything to stop it...and if we try early intervention when personal stuff gets thrown around , then we get accused of interference...like I said...

A good dispatch/load planner should never have even bid on a load like that unless they were prepared to give everything they had in it, just to move you.

I think rail has recognized that they were a dinosaur...slow, inefficient ....now with only a day or 2 difference in delivery times...they are closing the gap....and cheaper then a truck...

Star..you've been around the block...these 5 page contracts are well you know... Most always have the last line that states... The carrier reserves to terminate or change these terms with appropriate notice.....some may even say 30 days notice...

Our contract is half page at best...LOL I agree to pick up and deliver on time.. I agree to 100% FSC to be paid... I agree XX% of linehaul... I agree paydays are Friday... I agree QC is X amount weekly I agree bobtail Ins is X amount weekly... Can't get much simplier then that...all the rest...

all they are is oversized RV's that happen to carry freight. Truck drivers my butt...:D

I don't know why they are called contracts to begin with...LOL Maybe "Terms of Endearment" would be closer to the truth...:eek: A contract usually implies some sort of negotiation.... rather then ..."sign here or you can't drive"

Maybe a "sick" clause in the contract should be included? to CYA everyones concerns.....
