This is rather concerning that some think we should have naps, stopping to eat, walking their dog and have excessive spare time...
maybe recruiting should be hammering this issue more?.....DIRECT means just that....
I am just the opposite....love the people, even the idiots, love the challenge of making the load fit...you vanners know what I mean ....LOL.....any whacko can drive down the road..it gets boring real quick....
yep, that is about OTR rate......of course any DH will eat into that 40 cpm....
I'll throw out an "I heard"...company drivers aren't allowed to turn down loads....
even if them sprinters only get 18 mpg @ 4.00 a gal....that is about .22 per mile
first....figure out what major cities I might hit and at what time.....I'd probably do 2 fuel stops....see my calculation on other post....it is called DIRECT for a reason...naps are NOT inclusive....gee whiz...
your break is when you fuel up.....NO nap unless you have the time....make sure you'll not hit a rush hour before you consider a nap... 789 miles should have been for easy math call it 800 divide by 50....16 hrs...If you average 62 mph real time that is 12.9 hours...you have 3.1 hours , you'll...
Not quite a wasted day today....the dry run paid my fuel to cover my temper tantrum deadhead at least and now in Brookville Pa at the J....and it is a lot cooler/drier here the way over on the coast...I am fully expecting to get loaded outta here sometime tomorrow....
I think we solo CVers should be treated like a straight....instead of 10 make 8 hour delay before the 50 dollar clock starts ticking....when coming off say a 700 mile load or longer....that would be fairer to dispatch and safer all around....
