Federal Aviation Administration Can Not Keep Air Traffic Controllers Awake

Another problem is rotating shifts. When I was in the military, we had rotating shifts for a while. But our rotations were monthly; some people had a short turnaround and some didn't, but when you did, it was only once a month. These controllers are changing shifts far more frequently. That...

'Wikileaks' soldier Bradley Manning moved to new prison

He started under suicide watch, then was moved to something similar but lesser. This was criticized by those familiar with Manning as being unnecessary, simply a punitive move. Maybe because it's a fact (I don't know that it is, but they apparently see it as a fact). They report leaked news...

    About This Birth Certificate....

The rules here are stricter than on commercial broadcast radio? Those words can be used there. That doesn't seem right.

    Opinions on these generators?

Generally, whatever gen you get, you're going to have to get an external tank, so that wouldn't be too much of a problem, but the size and shape of it is. As Chef said, I'd have to move it all the time. And isn't the sound level pretty comparable to others?

    Tips?

I ran a warehouse for a courier company. One of our straight truck drivers had such a delivery of heavy books. He was supposed to take them all upstairs and stack them, but pulled them off onto the dock and drove away. They were busy enough that we couldn't pull him off the streets to go fix...

    Quote of the day

For a while, I was a guard and on the side, I drove a pilot car once in a while. A friend of mine who did the same two jobs and I were talking to some guy and he asked what we did. We told him, and he somehow he got confused and thought we were armed escorts for valuable loads. "You guys...

    memorable roads

There's a portion of US 54 between El Paso and Santa Rosa that's nothing but hundreds of acres of scrub brush. Last time I went through there, it was dark, so I didn't get to see that, but I saw deer crossing signs. I thought, "I've never seen any deer along here." 1/4 mile down the road...

    The Dreaded Black Conspiracy Helicopter

I don't know if this is the same rumor or a different one, but nutcase Harold Camping, the founder of Family Radio (which actually has some decent programming), again says he has calculated the day of the Rapture, which is May 21st, 2011 (according to him). Thing is, this is at least his third...

1 amp can't be much, right? I mean, how long can you run it without worrying about a single battery?

    Opinions on these generators?

Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more Stanley 2500 Watt, 3250 Surge Watt Portable Handheld Generator with 25 ft. Cord - G3250S at The Home Depot I don't see any reference to either being an inverter generator, but I could just put an inverter...

Detroit SWAT team assaults Mom for taking on the CPS

Hey, I used to admire cops. That was before they decided they were in the military and they're occupying the nation. All cops thugs? I wouldn't go quite that far, but the ratios have reversed. It used to be that cops were generally honorable with a few bad apples; now things have reversed.

EBORs Who Else is Disturbed by this Infringement

Thanks for that equivocation and that spineless pragmatism. 1. The government cannot compel us to testify against ourselves (i.e. a logbook that can be used as evidence against us); 2. The fifth amendment doesn't end with "unless we want to" or "unless we feel it's necessary for safety;" 3...

Detroit SWAT team assaults Mom for taking on the CPS

Threats sound like a pretty measured, reasonable response. "We're going to give your child this dangerous medicine." "No, you're not. She's not your child." "All children belong to the state, so yes, we are." "If you do that, I'll..." Sounds pretty reasonable. Any parent who wouldn't do...

Detroit SWAT team assaults Mom for taking on the CPS

That would be incorrect. They still can't enter without a warrant. I had been reading numerous stories about CPS goons demanding entrance into a home, having the cops present, making threats, etc. They would sometimes say they only wanted to take a look at the home, but if the family denied...

EBORs Who Else is Disturbed by this Infringement

Lots of people, even drivers, applaud this. The hyper-compliant crowd has never seen such an infringement they didn't like. They think it makes them seem responsible. The whole log book system is such an infringement. The Bill of Rights tells the feral gummint they cannot require us to...
