    TEANA

I know nothing of TEANA other than what I read on their website. I don't believe they have the clout or a reason to persuade NLM to raise their rates. Of the carrier names I recognize, all do business with NLM. Some rely heavily on NLM for loads. As mentioned above, there will always be...

    TEANA

I just perused the TEANA website. Reading through the roster of members, I noticed that 3 company names were missing. Without them it would seem that TEANA has no TEETH.

    NOWING BUYING FREIGHT LOADS

I re-read the original post and the only question I see is the huge cartoon question mark floating over my head. I can catch a glimpse of it's refection on my computer screen. Unionize today for a better tomorrow.

    E-Track Installation

David, check with a trailer repair shop or a household handy man. I would recommend the use of stainless steel fasteners and a rubberized undercoating. Are you sure you couldn't do it yourself? All that is required are some basic hand tools, a Skill saw and an electric drill.

    Whose bright idea was it?

    >if I have to wait one more time, for someone to apparently >take a full bath in the women's room, I'll let you know what >I find in the men's room! I can tell you what you won't find in the men's room - a couch.

    can this be done?

KW, why not go with a tractor/trailer. Some shippers may have a problem with putting freight on an open top trailer. Others may not want to run a forlift on a flatbed and then into the truck across ramps. Unless some of your customers require a flat bed for their freight, I think a van...

    can this be done?

Those Swift rigs sit low but you can drive through from the trailer to the truck.

    Early or not

I'm a firm believer in getting there early. If I can get to the shipper an hour before the scheduled pick up I will. I'd rather wait at the shipper on the chance the freight is ready than hang around a truck stop. Same goes for the consignee. If I get there before they open I will sleep at...

THE HARDEST THING I EVER DONE IN MY LIFE

Wombat, one more idea is to call the Australian embassy in D.C. and check with them. They should be able to advise you as what to do. If Mel Gibson should read this post and offer you a lift in his private jet, you should decline.

THE HARDEST THING I EVER DONE IN MY LIFE

Wombat, another thought is contact the airline. Sometimes they help out with hardship cases involving the death of an immediate family member. This is true for domestic flights, not sure about international. Check with that cute little fuzzy Koala bear airline.

    Need some advise

Bolt a 2x6, 6 or 7 feet long to the verticle ribs on the wall. Catch as many ribs as possible with bolts. Then add two or more 2x6's to build out to the depth required to accomodate your mattress. Bolt 3 or 4 door hinges along the length of the 2x6 and add a sheet of 3/4" plywood. You could...

THE HARDEST THING I EVER DONE IN MY LIFE

Wombat, I extend my condolences and sympathy to you for the loss of your mother. Being away from home when something like this happens is always in the back of the mind of an over the road trucker. In your case it is exceptionally difficult when family is in another country so far away. My...

    Lake in Chile disappers.

If the disappearance of a lake in Chile isn't enough to make you believe we will all be dead from global warming in a few short years, then swimming at the North Pole should. British explorer and endurance swimmer Lewis Gordon Pugh swam for nearly 19 minutes in the frigid waters of the...

    Lake in Chile disappers.

I read this brief piece from the Associated Press in my local newspaper yesterday. Santiago, Chile – Scientists on Tuesday blamed global warming for the disappearance of a glacial lake in remote southern Chile that faded away in just two months, leaving just a crater behind. They suggested...
