    Say Hi to July

Going to head north on I-35 to the TX/OK state line and try my luck at the Winstar World Casino. Getting too hot to sit and I only run the ac/gen when trying to sleep.

Not nearly as much sitting as I did with my former carrier/broker! And waaaay less DH now!

    My blown engine story.

Cash came from my maintenance account. Sure didn't help with the lost revenue. But CIS doesn't offer lost income insurance for vans. I checked with them a long time ago. Only for straights and TT owners.

That's really not bad! Thought it would be a lot more. I'm under the impression that my wife's group health insurance would cover me if I got hurt. Never asked if they'd pay if I was on the job.

And Yes, I've been running for CRE a lot longer then anyone knows. Was sitting in Murray's garage having a smoke and a Pepsi and got a load while I was sitting with them at 9:30 at night. He bid stupid high because it was late and had been on the board for a while. He got it, so off I went. Big...

You make a good point. I'll look into the WC. What's a ball park price on that? I'm covered by the health insurance if I get hurt and don't have WC. I did contact CIS and they don't offer loss of income insurance for vans.

CRE is small enough to be focused on looking ahead to where your heading. I took a load from Charlotte NC to Florida, sat less then 18 hours and had a load out of Florida to a small city just outside Dallas. I had a load to Houston scheduled before I even delivered the Dallas. Then on that load...

First off, health insurance isn't an expense to the truck. You need that regardless of what your doing. And my wife's job helps with the health insurance and W/C isn't required by law in Wisconsin. I currently have the best health insurance I've ever had in my life. Unlimited $10 office visits...

My numbers this week. I started late Tuesday morning 15 miles from home and delivered near Dallas at 08:45 this Saturday morning. 3,031 total miles including loaded, DH, exploring and chasing for my favorite restaurants and truck stops. For me, this is a very average week at CRE. A few worse...

    Insurance

Is this just for one cargo van? Or a Sprinter? Is it really new and expensive? I had my rate go down by decreasing the value of my van. As it ages, you need to stay in touch with the insured value. I was told if I purchase a new 2014-15 vehicle to expect a $200 per month rate increase. That's...

    My blown engine story.

Update on my engine swap. I drove the van with the "parts recyclers" engine over 3,000 miles this week. Great oil pressure and running temp. Had no engine leaks of any kind. Idles smoother then the old engine and has more torque and power. Stays locked in OD better now, probably because of the...

    My blown engine story.

I didn't get home this weekend. Got to make up some lost revenue and some cash outlay. But I'll pull the heads and measure the ridge and cylinder taper next weekend. And I'll take pictures!

Am I allowed to post actual revenue numbers on here? I have this weeks numbers ready, but won't post them if it's considered a no no.

Very nice Murray. Thank You! Good days pay with no driving costs. Now that I've got a definite time slot for Friday am, I'm heading down the road a bit for some Huddle House and a shower. Now just need some miles over the weekend.
