    Obama just won...

The national Republican establishment promoted the guy they wanted to win, not who had the best chance. Overall, the globalists wanted Obama, but Romney was an acceptable fallback for them. "They" won again, and America and Freedom lost again.

    Opinions on self defense

No question, a van or truck body doesn't offer much in the way of protection. Concealment, but as cover it leaves something to be desired. But the fact is, nobody without a time machine knows just how barbaric the future will get. A gun may help you last long enough for the world to stabilize...

You're right that reports don't indicate the actual number of instances of police abuse. Most go unreported or not followed up on, or just don't make national news. The actual instances of police abuse are undoubtedly much higher.

How many complaints of expediters whizzing in public could you collect in a day? Maybe 3? So if 9 American cops a day use excessive force--a sure bet, and certainly much higher--the differential could be said to be exponential.

Is that an improvement? Really? Would you rather it were that way?

As I've stated repeatedly, I don't claim that all cops are bad. The 95% in my sig line is less than all, and I've said numerous times before that that's hyperbole. Read my rationale to Turtle starting with "There are few expediters."

Again, it's self-evident. --There are few expediters; --The number peeing on tires in a day is invariably a small subset of that small number; --There are, comparatively, many cops; --That systemic abuse of the citizenry's rights is well-documented (we were just discussing in recent threads how...

    Read, Bob. It's self-evident.

    This can't be right

Anybody who can READ THE NEWS and not see that the norm has shifted and that abusive, out-of-control cops are the norm needs to take their head out, so-to-speak, and either wipe away the detritus covering their eyes or at least open them and recognize that it's not 1950 anymore and that this...

    This can't be right

I don't. It's long past a few. Rogue cops are now, quite simply, the standard. It used to be said that the bad cops were the inescapable exception to the rule, that human nature dictates that you're always going to have a few bad actors, and though you try the best you can to weed them out...

    This can't be right

If you read my post again, you'll see that I said, "This can't be right" and "If this is true..." A blatant, bald-faced lie that anyone but a badge-licker can see through immediately. One of the stories mentioned that the taser was tested. They shook it from side to side, ran tests to see if it...

    This can't be right

Yes, than you witness excessive force. But on a daily basis, police brutality or the routine, systemic violation of people's rights occurs exponentially more often. And no, not even close.

    This can't be right

    1) Expediters aren't public employees; 2) Peeing on someone's tires isn't a crime of violence; 3) There's no constitutional protection against having one's tires peed on, while there is against involuntary servitude; 4) The incidents of expediters peeing on someone's tires, while occurring...

    This can't be right

Is like to think it didn't. But the Nerf gun wasn't in any of the stories. I suspect you're thinking of a different incident.

    This can't be right

No, it's that police departments intentionally recruit and train psychopaths, and cashier the ones who won't conform. What we need is every police chief position being am elected position, like county sheriffs, and a retention election every two years, worth all cops who have complaints against...

    Opinions on self defense

A man has to know his limitations. Was reading a novel by Donald Hamilton, the G-Man, Bond-like series ruined on the screen by Dean Martin. In it, he told one of his buddies from the range that his wife was crazy. His friend stared him down for a few seconds and said, "You're a **** fool to...

Better to have it and not need it than the reverse. When the economy crumbles and everyone is looking for food, the thin veneer that we call civilized society will disappear before you know it. Count on it.

I had a Russian co-driver. He was really hard on beggars. I'd give them a couple bucks for cleaning the glass all around, showing they were at least willing to work a little, but this Russian, he would yell, "GO AWAY! GET JOB!"
