Charlotte and Atlanta at a all time low been stuck for 7 days...

Ended up being a dry run so I've relocated to Carolina to see if I can grab another one to Laredo. I hope this coming week will be better then the last.

Charlotte and Atlanta at a all time low been stuck for 7 days...

I'm not even going to say how cheap I'm taking this one for... about $350-400 less then everybody else would have. I sat for 8 days in a area that is known for a lot of freight... I had to check in a hotel just to keep my sanity. :) The first offer for Laredo out of NC... I missed because I...

Charlotte and Atlanta at a all time low been stuck for 7 days...

Keeping the dream alive here, finally got a load to Laredo tomorrow with only 10 deadhead miles to pick up and of course the deadhead to Dallas on Tuesday. From there I'll be looking to get west. AZ, CA, NV... would anyone know if Dallas or Houston has more runs going West? San Antonio/Austin...

Slow yes but Atlanta and Charlotte are in the top 10 busiest cities for expedited freight.

Charlotte and Atlanta at a all time low been stuck for 7 days...

ok nice you head to Dayton I'm going to Laredo or West Coast I'll settle for NM or CO at this point. The problem here is there is a food chain in the carrier system. I predict in the future it will be all large corporate carriers and guys with wifi on their trucks that book loads in truck stop...

Charlotte and Atlanta at a all time low been stuck for 7 days...

Not sure what is going one but sprinter loads are few and far between this week in Charlotte and Atlanta. I guess I'll just blame it on my carrier. Tomorrow is my last opportunity, Friday is do or die. Still sitting in Greenville. Gunna sit this one out and hope for the best, looks like today is...

How did you get Started in Expediting ?

Started in 2010 when I bought my first Sprinter. I'm on my 4th now. All 2006 models. Maybe I'll get a new one... one day :) I hear the newer ones are nice. I wish I'd bought a new one in 05 and started back then.

    Talk About Your Cheap Freight.

Three offers today to WI MI AND OH (bid them all at a buck a mile) as Atlanta and Charlotte are at a all time low (sitting in Greenville), let's see if tomorrow something will give and we can get me going to Laredo or West Coast. I don't even wanna talk about how cheap I will be bidding. Let's...

Guess if you're not on with one of the top companies listed here, you will have a hard time making money. I have found that true last couple of weeks. Trucking Company Directory - ExpeditersOnline.com

    Talk About Your Cheap Freight.

The only reason I had to run this load for so cheap is because this is scrap freight that 20 scrap carriers are bidding on. I don't work for a real expedite company that has their own accounts. I work for one that bids against 20-30 other vans/sprinters in the area. I bid a load from GA to...

Greenville SC a good place to sit or should I move into Charlotte or Atlanta?

I agree... I pay $100 for insurance and zero for QC fees. I'd rather pay the QC fees and be working for a real carrier that can get me real paying loads. I'm still researching the right one that doesn't have forced dispatch or some percentage program where you don't know what you're making...

Greenville SC a good place to sit or should I move into Charlotte or Atlanta?

That is what happens when you run for a large company like I used to run for Panther making .97 and never had to go under contract rate. And I also got regular bonus where I could make even more then that. I went to a smaller carrier cause I got tired of forced dispatch. I don't have a...

Greenville SC a good place to sit or should I move into Charlotte or Atlanta?

Sounds like a good spot, thanks for all the feedback so far... unfortunately I just bid 3 jobs to Laredo at .75 a mile and didn't get ANY of them? Two were on NE suburbs of Atlanta and one was in SC near Charlotte. I think it is time to get on with a better carrier that doesn't use load boards...

Greenville SC a good place to sit or should I move into Charlotte or Atlanta?

I'm looking to get to Tx or CA. Which city has more Sprinter loads heading that way? I'm 100 miles to Charlotte and 150 to Atlanta, enough time to deadhead to both cities and hopefully grab a weekend load that delivers on Monday. My carrier just bids off load boards. I would also consider...

    Talk About Your Cheap Freight.

Ran a load yesterday MI to SC for .80 a mile... made me sad but I did it! Panther Cargo Van drivers that work for fleet owners only make .20 less

    Talk About Your Cheap Freight.

Why does your bid always get outbid because there is someone needing to go home and willing to take it cheap or someone is sitting in the back of a cargo van hunched over on their laptop at the local truck stop putting a bid in themselves for .60 to .75 a mile. Better reason to find a carrier...

    Becoming a fleet owner

Not to mention we do some extra things every once and while for them too. Sent from my SCH-I535 using EO Forums mobile app What kind of extra things do you do for the drivers and how many times a week do you talk to them on the phone?

Has anyone started in Cargo Van and gone to Straight and been dissappointed?

So if I can't drop 30-35k on the truck and don't have another 10k for a box and 10k for a used sleeper don't get into a straight? Stick to sprinter and keep saving... Looking like a decent straight that I would want to go coast to coast in would cost me 45-60k when it is all said and done...

Has anyone started in Cargo Van and gone to Straight and been dissappointed?

please explain, because you paid it off or because you sold it and went back to something else? Fleet owners feel free to chime in :)
