We're geeting good responses from FedEx contractors. What's the word about Panther and Express-1 reefers and California?

I know one FDCC contractor who has upgraded but no others. Obviously he thought it was worth it. He also resides in California. Are there others out there who have upgraded or replaced their old reefers, and if so, what was the thinking that made it worth doing?

Our reefer dealer is giving us ball park prices of $8,000 to upgrade and $18,000 to replace our reefer. Upgrading means replacing the engine only. All other components remain the same.

Expediter Services seems to be doing that with some success.

I wonder, how far are we from the compliance geeks saying that if you fail a hair test you should be charged with illegal drug use and sent to prison or at least to mandatory rehab. After all, it would be in the interests of public safety, and if just one life is saved, it would be worth it, right?

For those of us who are unable to attend, might you share what kind of questions were asked? What did people want to know? Were the questions asked about vans today any different than what you have been asked months and years before?
