    Battery Isolator

I would think it would shorten the life of an alternator because it must charge two or more batteries instead of one. I just replaced my Napa 145 amp alternator on my van. It charges the starting battery and two auxiliary batteries. This one lasted about 98,000 miles.

Gang-related Thrill Killing in Duncan, OK

Easy for you to say! Would you care to point out just a couple of examples of the hatred and venom in this article? I'm not very familiar with The American Thinker, other than the few pieces that have been posted in the Soapbox that I have read. I did read this article and failed to see any...

Would one of those favorite lost bumper stickers be from a pizza joint on the Norwegian Riviera?

    EO logo

Pictured below is the left rear door of my van. The E.O. sticker is from Lawrence and is strategically placed so that when TeamCaffee blows by in the left lane, they will notice it and honk. The blue and black decal is courtesy of AMonger. He gave it to me along with a rainbow decal, which is...

    Bug screen behind grille

I use ¼" galvanized hardware cloth. It will restrict air flow some, but not near as much as window screen. I attach it to the back side of the grill with cable ties.

    Trucks Not Moving From Pumps

I ran a company sanctioned linehaul meet and turn from St. Paul to Windsor, Wi (Madison, exit 132) 5 nights a week for 2 years. The speed limit at the time was 55 mph and we got paid for 536 miles round trip. My calculator shows 53.6 mph, that's pushing it a bit.

Cool, enjoy! I like folk music. Someday I would like to hit the Winnipeg folk Festival. I perused the line-up and noticed the David Mayfield Parade is scheduled to play. Bruno?

    Trucks Not Moving From Pumps

As a team driver one can afford to be anal when it comes to logs. A solo doesn't have that option. I have never run more than one logbook, but I have never been totally accurate either. Call it the fudge factor. Every day I would fill out my log book, but wouldn't log on duty until...

21cExp did the CD thing one better and sent me a portable hard drive full of music. One of these days I will return the favor and reload it and send it back to him. Cheri and I have also traded books via the USPS. Yeah, what she said, a great way to get exposed to something different. And...

    Trucks Not Moving From Pumps

I'm just a van driver. I'm just a van driver that purchases gas, not diesel. I'm just a van driver, but I have been around the block a couple of times. I'm just a van driver, but I have heard the generic announcement to move your truck from the fuel island after fueling. I'm just a van...

    What's Free in Trucking?

That pretty much sums up the free stuff with the addition of the use of urinals, toilets and mostly free parking. I'd include window wash and the squeegee thing at the Flying/Pilot except they use way too much soap in the wash, so I use my own wash and squeegee thing. If it wasn't for the...

    Air Freight And The TSA

I delivered there to Berg Pipe a few years ago. I had some vital parts for one of their dust collectors that blew up and killed a worker a week earlier. The guards would not let me in without a TWIX card. They even gave me all the pertinent paperwork to apply for the card and told me to come...

    Other drivers killing us!

It may sound harsh, but its the truth. If I wanted solidarity I would still be an employee making a guaranteed amount per mile/hour with paid vacation and other benefits. I like what I am doing now and for the most part, do what I want, when I want. Other drivers may be killing themselves...

    Other drivers killing us!

That pretty much describes my operation. Way too many variables for a single truck owner/operator to adhere to any one formula. Be flexible, be Gumby; but in expedite, don't be Pokey. Ragman....
