GPS and scanner? Are these features of the MCP50? All I got with my unit was a laminated place mat describing the electronic log feature and a small accordion-fold primer that dealt mostly with the electronic log. Panther isn't very forthcoming with information about this QC. Like how to...

    Ford Full Size Transit

If there are major problems, delaying its debut is the prudent thing to do. I'm sure Ford is eager to get the Transit to market, especially with the introduction of the Promaster. Best to get all the problems worked out prior to release than to be saddled with recalls and the bad publicity...

I still have my old QC stuff so the next time she comes over we can play Noah Lost In Space. Only the rubber ducky and the Jeanie pig are tubby toys. The other creatures are hard plastic and came with a barn set.

I sometimes have problems with the touchscreen on my phone but nothing like the difficulties I am having with the screen on this new QC. yes it does take a long time to wake up. I also noticed that once it goes to sleep, it remains asleep until the ignition is turned on. My old QC was a...

    Qualcomm direct

I wish I would have gone that route. I just had the MCP 50 installed today. 31.95/month is 383.40/year. Add the initial price of $799 to that and you would pay $1182.40 the first year. Sure beats the rental fee of $35/week or $1820/year for ever.

3½ hours to install a QC in a van! I removed the dome and keyboard prior to bringing it in. I handed it over to the service manager. I explained that Panther gave me permission to keep the cable as it was buried above my ceiling. He told me I forgot to pull the "black box". I explained...

I just got the word that my QC should be in late today and I have a 07:00 appointment to get it installed tomorrow. I guess I will have to cancel the bonspiel scheduled to take place in my driveway tomorrow.

I find it beneficial also, but maybe not a benefit that costs $35/week. I don't feel the carriers should be making a profit off QC leasing. $20/week would seem more equitable. The QC certainly is more convenient and time saving compared to phoning in load information and location updates...

I'm paying $35/week for a QC that doesn't even work, but it still makes for a nice wheel chock. Love that curly tether.

I'm no logistics expert, but it would seem to me it would be more practical and cheaper to send out another batch of QCs next day UPS than to pay drivers $100 a day to sit. The originally shipped QCs could be sent back to Pantherville via slow boat, when and if they ever arrive.
