I haven't seen rates spiral since about 2010 they have been pretty stable....besides the the FSC dropping like over 20 cents... .70 to .80 has been the base rate for those in a flat rate contract....now maybe % isn't such a good deal at this time?...

Your description sound fine....if 100% of the ones that leave actually exit the business, but time again we've seen some of the more adventurist ones start their multi carrier format or get single authority thus increasing the over all numbers..... tie goes to the runner....:p

Here's an example; you are in Laredo, it's Tuesday ,you must be home by the weekend a load opportunity comes up going to Kansas City ...right close to home problem is shipper only wants to pay $.60 a mile what do you do ?

Thing is you don't know under what conditions those loads were eaccepted under! Did the operator need to go home ? Was this a home load? Was it used as a paid move? Was it used as part of a double load?
