    Power Inverters?

I've got an Aims, but it's one of the Digital PSW models. I wonder if that's the difference?

Sort of OT... Generator in a Sprinter

Idlebusters is doing a Sprinter generator. It's the same thing as the TruckGen, pretty much. It's a nice setup, but ya still gotta crawl up on the roof to change the oil and add water to the cooling tank thingy. It uses that small Kubota engine. Even with the dampening, it's pretty loud, tho.

    60/40?/fair?

Just to clarify in case I missed it, when you guys give the DH and Empty Move money to the driver, that's where they are paying for fuel, correct? I look at that as the DH and EM money is to help cover the cost of fuel, and neither the driver's driving time nor the truck's wear and tear are...

    Rain-X

I'm a Sprayway superfreak. :) The 050 glass cleaner is great. For those who can't find it easily, Stoner's Invisible Glass is on par with the Sprayway cleaner, tho. Sprayway's 848 plastic cleaner is just killer for laptop screens. The 985 Orange Citrus Crazy Clean is an all purpose cleaner...

    60/40?/fair?

The Truck Pay, People Pay, Time Pay thing sounds all well and good, but Detention really should go to the driver, in most cases. I think, anyway. Real time is lost to the driver, where he not only has no other earning possibilities, but he also losing personal time to do with as he sees fit...

    Injury Liability

Well, the rake manufacturer, of course. The importer, if there is one. The retailer who sold the rake, too. In addition, anyone in the neighborhood who let you keep up with the Jones and failed tell you about the dangers of the rake are also likely culpable. If you are on any meds, well, that...

Sort of OT... Generator in a Sprinter

Talk to some RV places about how they might integrate into a Sprinter, and for further contacts on who and how, and take a look at Onan generators. Your fuel options are propane, gasoline and diesel. Diesel will be the more robust generator, last the longest, weigh the most and cost the most.

    Power Inverters?

For a microwave, 1500-2000 Watts will be plenty. Pure sine wave will make the microwave run faster (at a higher power), as well as letting the timer/clock on the microwave be correct. The real key is to get enough batteries to handle your amp hour needs, separate them from the starter...

    BAKKEN Oil 500 Billion Barrels

Yep, pretty much. Back when oil was $70 a barrel the hard-hitting hype was to get people to invest in the speculation that oil would hit $100 a barrel. If it didn't hit it, you lost all your money, but if it did, you won big. Of course, the same people who were hocking these oil futures were...

    BAKKEN Oil 500 Billion Barrels

If you notice, tho, all the news of the Bakken oil and the Williston Basin is all coming from investors and investor newsletters, and a few money sections of news outlets. If all the exciting hype of investors is realized, there still will not be enough oil pumped out of there on a daily basis...

    Battery Powered A/C

Actually, 33 amps DC for 16,000 BTU's seems awfully, awfully efficient. Especially in light of the fact that the Red Dot units (the DC units, anyway) are manufactured by DC Airco in Europe, and you'd think that they would incorporate the uber-efficient specs of the Red Dot units into their own...

    Battery Powered A/C

The problem that Benz and many others have is they look at the amp draw and then look at the batteries, say a 10 amp draw and a 100 amp hour battery and it should last 10 hours. But it doesn't. The Peukert effect makes the simple math worthless. It's like MPG, the faster you suck amp hours out...

    Search Function

I think the FAQ, under the "Can I search the forum?" topic, should contain all the gory details about searches, whether full boolean expressions are allowed, what, if any wildcards are allowed (they are, BTW), how the quotes work, lots of things. If you search for "search illegal" in quotes...

    What is Cheap Freight, Really?

Yep. It's cheap freight if you wouldn't run every load, every day, for that rate.

Why do people get into this Business and take off 25% of the year?

Yeah, like Leo said, if you work 3 weeks then are home one, it maybe 25% of the year off, but 3 weeks out and one week at home is just 91 days off a year, and 52 weekends off is 104 days off a year. I usually stay out 3 months or more at a time, then take off a couple or three weeks. What's the...

    Cell Phones/Drunk Drivers

I think that truck drivers should be able to carry a handgun and actually shoot people who drive down the Interstate while texting. I also think that all trucks should be required to have a snow plow on the front in the winter, that way the roads will always be clear. Sorry, had a Jack Handy...
