The auto Time Zone "feature" is the primary factor as to why I haven't upgraded mine for one with more bells and whistles. Mine still works fine, and I update the maps pretty regular (although not from "official" sources, if you know what I mean).

Exactly. Many if not most people don't realize that you don't need a cover sheet. I don't remember who it was here on EO that pointed that out to me, but I thank them. So do dozens of trees. The ink cartridge division of HP isn't so appreciative, tho.

Of course they are. Palin is no different, despite the fact that people say she is. However, most politicians are opportunistic to gain power, Palin just wants attention, but not too much, and of course the money that comes with it. At this point she's mostly just famous for being famous, the...

I've still got an older Street Pilot c550. Must be 6 or 7 year old by now. There isn't even an "auto" setting. You go in and tell it 12 or 24 hour clock, then select a Time Zone, and then you can select Auto-On-Off for Daylight Saving Time, but that's it. Apparently, the automatic Time Zone...

I'ma mutt. A hillbilly, redneck, northerner and east coaster, and something I don't even know what it is. Which is why I make fun of everybody. I was born down in western Kentucky, but grew up in Cincinnati from the 3rd grade. Moved to Ft Lauderdale for 6th and 7th grade, then moved back to...

    Part IV: An Opposing Viewpoint

I've spent a lot of time in black churches, and others, where the overwhelming majority of those church members, pastors and preachers included, refer to him as Dr. King. Sometimes it was "The Reverend Doctor King", but most of the time it was just plain "Doctor King". A black man with a...

Libertarian party says NO to senator Murkowski.

I think the Tea Party endorsements are much more of a factor than Sarah Palin. The Tea Party is a mass movement of ideas and ideals, and the candidates who most fit within those ideals is likely to be the one to be endorsed by the Tea Party. It's almost a chicken and egg kind of thing, but many...

He doesn't even need the dog whistle. It's just a way of confirming what he already knows. It's not like he's walking around the truck lot with a dog whistle looking for dogs. There are dead giveaway tell-tale signs that a dog is in a truck. If you know what they are, and are observant, they are...

Illusory Corollary. Guy makes a fantastic defensive play to end the inning and he's first at-bat next inning. That always happens, right? Nope. But those are the ones you remember, those are the ones that stick out in your mind. The candidates that Palin endorses, and wins, are the ones you...

This one is an e-form, where you can edit it within Acrobat and add your truck umber and stuff. Pro Paperwork Cover Sheet E-Form.pdf When you scan paperwork, if a cover sheet is not present, you will be presented on screen with options to either type in the SCAC Code (PTWT) or there is a...

Good question. The answer is no. In order to use phone navigation you must have a data connection, because the maps are downloaded on the fly as you need them. The maps on a standalone GPS unit are always there when you need them. If you live and work in a city and only navigate around that...

Tea party cry ironic given history of ancestors

For me it was the 7th grade, in Cincinnati, when two all-black schools (Woodlawn and Lincoln Heights) were merged with my [mostly] all white school (Princeton). Overnight we became a major football and basketball power in the state (those Moeller pukes notwithstanding). There were a few racial...

The "avoid traffic" will have the Garmin reroute you around reported traffic tie-ups, like accidents or accumulating traffic. It does not mean that it will be able to avoid all traffic. If a traffic delay icon pops up to indicate an unusual traffic situation, the Garmin will calculate...

As a southern redneck I am deeply offended by the use of the stereotypical southern vernacular to illustrate ignorance and a lack of intelligence. Perpetuating these stereotypes only further entrench the prejudice against southerners which result in an even further lowering of the southern...

And the ones who are breaking the rules intentionally, who think they can get away with it, that thread didn't serve it's purpose as a warning to them? I think there was a very good reason for starting the thread. Two or three good reasons, actually. It also lets others at all carriers know that...
