Westboro Baptist plans to protest in Joplin

Do you want to discuss the issues, or do you want to take sophomoric pot-shots at me because I don't agree with what you are saying? That's good, considering how bad you are at it. I hope your gas can blows up. So there. :D

Westboro Baptist plans to protest in Joplin

Without opposition, true enough. But even individual citizens are restricted from the oppression of free speech if doing so violates the civil rights of others. But the scope of their censoring power is only within the servers of this site. They cannot extend that to anything else. But the two...

Westboro Baptist plans to protest in Joplin

I doubt very seriously that they'll will resort to violence. The whole modus operandi of Phelps is to provoke others into violence and other illegal activity, and then suing in civil court as redress. They have a tidy little revenue stream of won court cases.

Westboro Baptist plans to protest in Joplin

Didn't Hilter say nearly the very same thing? Please tell me you aren't advocating the suppression of Westboro's free speech using that rationale. Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it. Today it's free speech, tomorrow it's thought crimes about what might happen. Only the DOT can...

Westboro Baptist plans to protest in Joplin

Golly, I had no idea. Thanks for that. <snort> But it should also be kept in mind that what happened in Brandon was a publicly acknowledged conspiracy between the public and private citizens of Rankin County. The same can be said of the tow truck driver, actually, if he was a part of the...

Truck driver killed in parking lot of TA

Well, some people are just always in a hurry to get to Walmart. They gotta git whatever they need. Then, once they get there and git it, it suddenly dawns on them that they are at Walmart.

Isn't is fortunate for you, that you have the right to post what you just posted, without having me stomp your butt into the ground?

Interesting.... so you don't really believe in free speech, then. :( On the bright side... you can quit guessing now.

    From the dark side..............

Yes, Dave is implying, implicitly, that your numbers may be exaggerated. Because he did such a good job with his implicature, you inferred, explicitly, what he was trying to imply, implicitly, and did so correctly, indubitably.

Westboro Baptist plans to protest in Joplin

It was Brandon, MS, in Rankin County. You may be right. But here's one thing that deserves consideration in all this, and it's something far too many people want to dismiss: Free speech extends precisely as far as the willingness to allow and defend speech which you do not agree with. And...

Thailand arrests American for alleged king insult

Two thoughts here, one, he's an idiot for posting on his Blog about the Monarchy, and then visiting the country. Two, I find it pretty funny that it's a really bad thing to say bad things about the Thai King, but paying a 12 year old Thai child for sex is perfectly fine.

FBI wrecks Ferrari, refuses to pay up, claims sovereign immunity

That car is a modern-day legend. ================================ THIS is the legend of the Algar Ferrari F50. It begins with an airline pilot with such a taste for speed that he conned his way into driving the $729,000 roadster, then stole it, leaving a stunned Main Line car salesman...

Best Freight Cities West of Mississippi?

They deal with it by doing a lot of unpaid deadhead miles to go home, and the reverse to get back to an area where they can get loaded. Phoenix once in a while, Nogales once in a while, El Paso once in a while. That's about it. It may seem that way, but there's a reason nobody is doing it...

    Frdays at the Pentagon

This thing just keeps getting better and better with every rewrite. It's getting to the point where very little of the original Memorial Day 2007 Washington Post article remains. Which is probably a good thing. At least this iteration finally no longer abuses the original author of the piece by...
