New NJ Ice law goes in effect.

Can you imagine the cost? What about the long lines? This law could add hours to a run.

New NJ Ice law goes in effect.

The enterprising person could not get the needed zoning. This is all about revenue, nothing else. Truckers are a "target", a "cash cow", nothing more.

    barrys Favorite Union at Work...

Nope, just because it is legal does not mean that they have to do it. They could be honest if they chose to be. They chose not to be.

    Waterboarding is torture says McCain

OK, here is one from my world. My job, for 5 years, was targeting our nukes. If I had too I would have did my best to wipe out as many Russians, military and otherwise, as I could. At a moments, notice. I could do it, could you? That is the reality of the world. It was no different when I was an...

    Waterboarding is torture says McCain

I did not name anyone nor did I imply anyone in particular. I would do anything that I could think of if it would save lives. I learned that when fighting forest fires that one of the best tools we had was more fire. I would fight this war with any "fire" I needed to win. There are only...

Herman Cain stumbles badly on Libya question

No matter what a "conservative" might say they will get "hammered". Only the lord god Obama can get away with such "gaffes" and maybe even murder. He was not vetted in any meaningful way at any point in his "career".

    Waterboarding is torture says McCain

It is often those who have never had the responsibility of keeping others safe that rattle off the most. I wonder, IF we could have used "harshness" to stop the attacks on 9/11, who would or would not? I wonder, how loud some would rattle about not doing enough to stop those attacks? All from...

    Deer hunt

LOL! Not a stupid question. It is hunter "slang". Bald mean no antlers. That would either be does (females) or button bucks (young, before they can grow antlers). All deer are " bald" for part of the year. Bucks old enough to grow antlers drop them in Jan or Feb every year (depending on where...

US Marines to deploy to Australia

We have very few "combat" forces in Japan. That draw down began when I was there in '71-72. The only large combat force left in japan is on Okinawa, and that is being drawn down as well.

US Marines to deploy to Australia

Occupy Japan? The last I heard the US occupation in Japan ended in 1952. I was one year old then. I guess I missed something when I was stationed there. I though I was there under a statute of forces agreement.

    Deer hunt

We have a small freezer on the truck. We carry a few venison steaks, burger etc. She will do more when we are home over Christmas. I hope to get over to my friends place during late doe season. One more would be nice. Till then, I hope to get a few more ducks in the freezer.

    Deer hunt

It has been a strange year to be sure. The herd is down where we hunt, not sure what is going on over where you hunt. I only saw one hunter where we were hunting. That is strange it itself. Kinda nice. Just my brother and I hunting in a nice stand of hardwoods and and older cut over. Mrs...

US Marines to deploy to Australia

Are you going to volunteer to rewrite all the treaties involved AND the Constitution of Japan? Don't count on our government doing that. I don't want that job. It would interfere with my hunting.

Study links Parkinson's disease to industrial solvent

Golf is the main cause. Everyone that I know who had Parkinson's also played golf. I wonder if walking in areas that are contaminated by heavy amounts of fertilizers and pesticides are having an impact?

    Deer hunt

Got back from up north yesterday. I hunted in a new spot this year. I saw 12 deer first day, all bald. Took a doe. That was the only deer taken by our crew. No snow until yesterday morning.

    Privileged

The last youth hunt did not go so well. The kids were great but we had a problem with our primary tender boat. The ignition switch burned up and we could not start it. We always have at least one back up tender boat so we picked up the layout boat and decoys and came back in. We only managed 4...

    Gales of November

Yesterdays wind storms in SE Michigan were right on cue. The famous "Gales of November" are part and parcel of the history of the State. The most famous "victim" of the "Gales" was the Edmond Fitzgerald. She was an ore carrier that was very well known in the Detroit area. She was built in...
