    shoot to kill

Ah, man messing with habbitat will do it. No reason the for the big cats not to eat the little ones. Maybe it's not only the Chinesse restaraunts that know what's good!!! LOL Yep, the .22 rifle would be my first choice for learning. Don't look at to cheap and no need to go to a olympic target...

    shoot to kill

Odd behavior for wild animals. Was the one that attacked sick? Is there a shortage of rabbits etc? That is more thier normal food. We have VERY large black bear around our land in the PA mountians. In the 600lb class. PA have large bear in general. They take many a few in excess of 700lbs every...

    shoot to kill

For sure LDB, that is why I suggested starting off with a .22. A shotgun is just not the right thing for protection from dangerous animals. Too iffy. I don't like to see anyone start off on a shotgun, too much recoil. You could use a semi-auto 20 gauge, gas operated, not too bad on the recoil...

    shoot to kill

I will look at it. I kinda recogmend that you don't start off shooting with a shotgun first. IF you were going to use one on big cats and wolf's the smallest gauge I would even begin to trust would be a 12 gauge, a 10 would be better. I would say you start of on a good quality .22 or .22mag...

OVM, What town in S. Dakota? Looking at the map I would have to live around Pierre or Mobridge. Looks like anywhere up and down that river. I need LOTS of water and S. Dakota looks like it is a bit water impared. At least compared to Michigan. Layoutshooter

Well, OVM, as of now I am stuck living in MI due to family concerns. Who knows what might happen in the future. I would have a range if it lived there. Layoutshooter

    shoot to kill

Sounds wonderful. I have often wanted to hunt birds up there. It is hard in this business. I take what time I can for hunting with family. Does not leave much time for other adventures. Layoutshooter

    Hand Load?

FedEx is a percentage company and for the most part the very special handling loads pay more than most other loads. We still take each offer as a seperate business decision. Sometimes cheap freight is what we need. Better than deadheading home or to a better area. Sometimes sitting and waiting...

Very good!!! Contact them and see if they have certified instructors. It is by far the best way to learn. I will take you up on staying up there, I seldom get up that way. It is way off our normal freight lanes. By the way, for varmits you might consider a .22/250, .22MAG, the M16 5.56 or any...

    shoot to kill

I think you most likely would enjoy the sport if you got into it. It is a shame that there is no formal training in the area. Not to put a knock on your relatives but not everyone that owns a firearm knows how to use it properly and not everyone who knows how to use one properly can teach...

    Hand Load?

Every "special handling" load I have taken has paid way above what a "bump and run" load would pay. I haul very few automotive type freight runs since the rate for that type of freight is of nomally way below what my minimum rate is. There are exceptions of course. I base acceptance or rejection...

    shoot to kill

By the way OVM, while the Safey course would be a very good idea for you it will not help you if you need to use it. There is only one way to be good with any firearem and that is to practice with it. If you don't do that your firearm will only give you a false sence of security. You will not be...

This is a tale of US expansion not Russian aggression

It is a waste. The hunting and fishing is WONDERFUL where I live. SE Michigan, 8 miles from the Ohio line, near Toledo. There is no better walleye (Pikerel for you Canadians) fishing anywhere in the world. Fantastic smallmouth and perch fishing. Not to mention the pan fish pike and muskie. I...

    shoot to kill

A shotgun for varmits? Nature does suck, all that wonderful wildlife messing things up. Why should a gun scare you? They are just tools. No more dangerous than any other mis-used tools. Shooting sports are called "disiplines". I used to be a firearms instructor for 4H. I taught kids between the...

No, I don't think so OVM. Even my "CC" is smarter that Jennifer the "Witch". Michigan is living proof that Osama Obama's tax plan won't work. Those kind of taxes are in place in Michigan and we are enjoying a great one state recession. Layoutshooter
