Nitrogen; An Extra-Income Opportunity for Expediters

20% is typical, but of course anyone who is vigilant (anal) about their tire pressure probably won't see that much. Between 5% and 10% really isn't a stretch, though, as it'll stay closest to optimal in both the mountains and in LA, and everywhere in between up and down those mountains, where it...

Nitrogen; An Extra-Income Opportunity for Expediters

Timed saved is the most noticeable. But... The thing is, the cold tire pressure is the pressure that allows for increased pressure at higher operating temperatures without compromising the tire and keeping the tire pressure in an acceptable range across a wide range of temperatures. But the...

    Missing Truck and Driver

Back in September I was too sick to call into dispatch for four days. It was pretty bad. I don't know that it was, and neither does anyone else. The alert only said "apparently" disconnected, which can look like that if the truck is parked by a building or tree blocking the satellite signal...

What would you do? Makes me sick just thinking about it.

Fake outrage is all the rage these days.

    pay rate ALL Miles

Without destroying the implied Trust and Confidence clause of the lease contract, yes.

    pay rate ALL Miles

True dat. I once took a load 380 miles to an area where a hurricane was to hit a few hours after I delivered. Which it did. The load was hot, hot, hot. The shipper, who was also the customer, called the carrier directly, no broker middleman. They paid dearly to get it there. A premium was...

When to canoodle and when not to

Sawatsky found out that most of the residents of Vancouver Island did not know the true meaning of "canoodling." There was no word on how many of the island residents know the true meaning of "Jane, you ignorant :censoredsign:." I crack myself up. :D

    pay rate ALL Miles

It's a nice and noble delusion, but yer wrong for the most part. You're right in theory, and in the abstract, but the reality is, as long as there is someone out there willing to take that cheap load, the rates will not and do not increase. It is nice to dream about drivers sitting there and...

    self deleting app

I heard of it happening with certain Android phones when the app is moved to the SD card. My Droid Bionic did that right after I got it. I'd install apps and move the to the SD card, and the next day half the apps were gone. Poof. It was a bug that I think they got fixed, but I haven't moved...

PTL LLC Drivers too busy to post

The only proof to be found here in the forums is that PTL drivers do not post here. No conclusions as to why can be reached with the available data. It could be they are too busy to post, or it could be that they are, as a group, computer illiterate. :D

Sprinter + MC and DOT #

If the Sprinter is 8550 GVWR, then the trailer would need to be a minimum of 17, 451 GVWR to put the combined rating at 26,001 pounds. You really don't want to pull a 17,000 pound trailer behind a Sprinter. The maximum GTW (Gross Trailer Weight) for a Sprinter is 5,000 pounds, and the maximum...

    bad owner operator

First, I agree with others in that it's greatly appreciated that you've made an effort to improve the readability and coherence of your posts. No one thinks you're an idiot, because we all know just how hard it is to find the comma and period keys on a keyboard. And capital letter? Whoof those...

ICE agents sue own agency over deferred deportations

You say all that is if this is solely a liberal Democrat thing about votes, yet conservative Republicans don't want to deport illegal aliens, either. Nobody in Washington does. The only ones who want them deported is the American people. It's like the Mexican cross-border trucking issue, nobody...

County judge in Texas warns of coming Civil War if Obama re-elected...

Unfortunately it's not quite that simple. The average shelf life of a democracy is 200 years. We're past the expiration date already. That's why we have to be especially vigilant that our rights are not taken away. Too many already have been.

County judge in Texas warns of coming Civil War if Obama re-elected...

It's a bit extreme, but then again civil war always is. I do think he's mostly right about the "why" it might happen, with the disturbing executive orders and the other documents. Obama has been on a more or less relentless campaign, sometimes very subtle, sometimes, not so much, to give himself...

    Trash cans use' em!

When I dump my trash, which is usually a Walmart-sized bag, I usually go find the truck stop's dumpster. I don't mess with the compactors, though. It doesn't help much, but it saves someone else from having to lug it from the garbage can to the dumpster. I just cut out the middleman.

US row over Congressman Todd Akin's rape remark

The problem with that is the ease in which it can be literal scripture, or figures of speech, all depending on what you want it to be to help make your point. I've seen the same exact section be called literal scripture, and a literary device, depending on how one wants to interpret it and...
