    Batteries and Crankinig Amps

I have installed marine battery chagers on my truck. When I get home I just plug them in. I bought two from Dual Pro. One is a 2 bank charger for the deep cycles and the other is a 4 bank for the starters. Each battery charges and reconditons seperately as needed. Each bank has up to a 10amp...

    Cargo Box Update

That is a very interesting method for storing your gear Phil. I would like to see a set of pics on it. Our shelfs can be moved. We use E-Track 2X4 sockets to hold them. On the odd chance we have a piece of freight that is over 19ft (only twice in 2 years) we just raise the shelfs up to a higher...

    Cargo Box Update

Do you mean Air Tabs? I hope to later this year. I would love to now but money is soooooo tight having been out of service for so long. I have talked with several who have them and they all love them. For the time being I will have to focus on the basics only. Oil changes etc. I will be...

    Cargo Box Update

Pictures will follow a bit later. I don't want to get in the way of those working on getting the truck ready for TVAL testing. We are still hoping to get into FedEx for testing on the 29th, if not, we will make the Jan 5th date for sure. Layoutshooter

    Flying J Files Bankruptcy

Yummy food? Flying J? Phil, either that was a really bad joke or you have been driving truck way tooooooo long! LOL!! I could NEVER use the term "yummy" for most truck stop food offerings with a straight face!! There are a few exceptions but they are few and far between. The "J" is not one of...

Hey Piper1, why don't you guys get rid of the melon heads? Maybe your as doomed as we are down here and are not able to get rid of all the bums, idiots and fools. We just got rid of one bunch of fools and put in a cowardly lion and a scarecrow without a brain. What a great place. Layoutshooter

    Cargo Box Update

I am now sitting in the drivers lounge at Morgan in Janesville, WI. What fun!!!!!!!!!! Anyone want to know the news from a July 22nd paper? It is so cold here I would have to use heat in the cargo box to get it up to -25c!!!!!!!!!! All joking aside, I am sooooo happy to be here and have the work...

    ID on Equipment

Good point Leo. I had not thought of that. I guess it is time to break down and by an ingraver to mark stuff. I think I would still use the duct tape on the big stuff in addition to ingraving, just to make it easy to spot. It might help me see it on the dock better. Layoutshooter

    ID on Equipment

We put red duct tape on all of our large stuff, load bars etc. We starting this when a shipper accused us of stealing load bars off his dock. We pointed out to him that his bars were too big for our truck but he was still mad. Ever since we mark everything. As to the hand tools we have not...

    Cargo Box Update

We are not yet sure on the total weight, it can change a bit during the mounting process. I will post the figures when it is complete. I have a Holland Lift gate and it will remain on the truck. That was part of the engineering problem. The box has to be built around the lift gate and since few...

    Cargo Box Update

LOL, Slacker is right!!! Other than the lack of income I have enjoyed EVERY minute of it too!!! It has taken a long time but we wanted to insure that the work was done right the first time. We did not want to have to keep going out of service to fix stuff that was not specked right etc. We think...

    Cargo Box Update

Moose, it is a '22ft box. Overall height should be around 13'2". We will get an exact height once the box is on. It is a reefer, with 4" of insulation all around. It is specked for extreme TVAL operation. I wish I had a bigger reefer it would have then allowed for less insulation. I have a...

    Cargo Box Update

Yes, the seals are better on Morgan. It is a reefer box. I went with Morgan for a couple of reasons. They seem, at least in theory, to build a better box than Alumi-Junk does. The place that is doing the body work is a Morgan dealer and they are used to working on Morgan boxes. They have a good...
