Old enough to do the crime, but too old to do the time?

I don't think you can have a cutoff age that can be applied with any rigidity (subtle pun intended). Each person will be different. Age, general health or specific health issues should be considered, length of sentence, severity of crime, lots of factors.

    Quick question...Anyone? Anyone?

Yes it does. I learn all kinds of crap here nearly every day. And I mean that in a good way. :D

Old enough to do the crime, but too old to do the time?

Putting a 91 year old in jail is probably a death sentence, as she's be unlikely to survive such a dramatic and traumatic life change. She's also unlikely to repeat her crime in any manner. Then there's also the mitigation of, "at least partially, she was being taken advantage of by some others...

    Hey, VP debates tonite

Truth is stranger, and usually funnier, than fiction. It's inevitable. Godwin's law That's the epitome of the religious right, the insatiable need to tell other people what they can and cannot do, what they can and cannot think, and how they can and cannot live their lives, not to mention the...

Six billion mobile phone subscriptions in the world

Oh, I know. I know. They've been trying to sneak this upon us little by little over the years. Mostly it's been disguised as security and safety concerns, and government partnerships, and what's best for the the masses. For those who are unaware of all this, all you need to know is that...

    Quick question...Anyone? Anyone?

Live and learn. This thread is the very first time I've ever heard a wheel well referred to as a wheel tub.

I modified an old wash tub to wash my dog in. Oh, wait, never mind.

    Thanks John

Anybody at Load 1 who has ever been leased on with another carrier knows full well how good they have it at Load 1. The only thing I really hadn't been aware of is the fact that John can walk on water without even getting his feet wet. Ever seen him in the wash bay? It's a miracle is what it...

Quite clear. So I take it you no longer pay taxes? Beeeecuz taxpayer money is, and has been for quite a few years now, being used to pay for abortions, albeit in an indirect way thanks to creative bookkeeping by Planned Parenthood, which is largely funded by tax dollars.

    Quick question...Anyone? Anyone?

I have a quick question. If a tub is "a wide, open, deep, typically round container with a flat bottom used for holding liquids, growing plants, etc.," why are people referring to wheel wells as wheel tubs when the wheel wells don't resemble a tub in any way? Is it kewl to do, or something? I...

    Hey, VP debates tonite

I'm not defending anything, other than people not having to accept new definitions of things just to satisfy someone else's wants and wishes. Yet that is precisely what humans have always done when it comes to morality. Humans are the ones who define what is and is not moral. It is only within...

    Nashville airport

If you're leased on with Panther you might have a good shot with Averitt. They do lots of swaps there and have a good relationship with Averitt. Otherwise you'd have to invent an emergency (if one doesn't already exist) and play on the yard manager's sympathy. Failing that, the TA in Antioch is...

The 3500 can haul about an additional 2000-2500 pounds over the 2500 series, but a 48x48 pallet of four drums won't fit into a 3500 anyway.

    Nashville airport

The TA in Antioch is the closest. The downtown TA is a close second. Maybe a mile's difference between the two. If it's YOUR truck that you're leaving behind, I'd go with Antioch, or seeing about talking Averitt into letting you park it at their yard right next to the airport. If it's a fleet...

Pro life + pro death penalty = pro crastinator One thing to keep in mind is the simple fact that throughout the vast majority of civilized human existence, abortion has been legal, normal and widespread. It wasn't until the latter part of the 19th century that religious leaders began the...
