RE: What companys pay the most per mile, and inclu Kelly, Ok .... I'll bite. The company I am with pays the following rates for cargo vans: "B" loads - $0.92 to $1.05 per loaded mile, dependant on total mileage of the run. "C" loads - $1.26 to $1.40 per loaded mile, dependant on total...

    HEY VIRGINA ? FEDEX C C!!

I had two items to deal with, one skid 60lX40w with part of the equipment hanging off the skid 8 inches on one short end and 4 inches on long end and one crate 80lX45wX60h - one engine crane and one Pratt and Whitney jet engine. The engine was a hazmat item and straped it down carefully the...

    Love them Sprinter 07's!!

Interesting info on the GVWR - the Dodge website shows 8550 lbs as the "standard GVWR" for an extended 170 inch WB high roof 2500 ...... with a "maximum GVWR" of 8550 lbs. It also shows a "standard GVWR" of 9990 lbs for an extended 170 inch WB high roof 3500 ...... with a "maximum GVWR" of...

    insulating a sprinter

I used a combination of 2" Dow blue styrofoam (walls), 1" Dow polyisocyanate (roof), and GreatStuff expanding foam - all of which are available at Lowes, Home Depot, or similar. I don't have an exact number on the cost - never got around to adding it all up - it wasn't cheap though - I wouldn't...

    legal sleeper

Greg, I run a van with no cargo bulkhead. As far as I can tell from reading the FMCSA regs, and the Ohio "Truck Drivers Guidebook" published by the Office of Licensing and Commercial Standards, Motor Carrier Enforcement Unit, a cargo bulkhead or front end structure or headerboard is not...

    what is UPS doing?

jbrbears' profile says his name is John Robinson ..... but who knows ..... given that we have a "male from the rustbelt" whose profile says his name is Mary Smith (and he claims to not know who that is ..... ;) )

One a day equals none a day?

Greg, I scaled mine shortly after I started running - having limited experience with that specific vehicle, and with hauling freight of any significant weight generally, - and because of how the vehicle handled when loaded, I wanted to know exactly what the numbers were. This occurred in early...

One a day equals none a day?

    >Are the Sprinter owners getting more for that heavy freight? >I am speaking to the "cat"? I am - anything over 2500 lbs pays the "C" rate. I'm not with the "cat" though. >I have a Sprinter on with them >but most times have to fight for a higher rate when we can >take more than a normal...

Be safe and never pretend to be something you're not. So I gotta ask - your profile shows you to be of the male gender and that your first name is "mary" ....... typo ?

    tall load

I only have limited experience with swaybars on smaller vehicles - dunno if they are quite the same on larger vehicles or not (you would think so - but hey - who knows ?) - so take whatever I have to say with a grain of salt. I installed a heavier duty rear anti-sway bar on my Sprinter...

    Front-end alignment

Marty, I love it - it has made driving the Sprinter much less fatiguing when there is significant crosswinds and when semi's go flying by. Before I installed it I was getting pushed around all over the place due to the Sprinters high profile catching the wind and inadequate stock swaybar. I...

    Sprinter Engine issues !!

No problem. My son had to have that sensor replaced at around 140K on his 2004 ..... so I'm trying to figure out whether or not that since there is a TSB on it that it would/should/could be covered by DC. He had to pay over $700 to have it replaced by the dealer. I had to have it replaced on...

    Sprinter Engine issues !!

No - I think what they are saying is the malfunction indicator lamp illuminates as a consequence of a failure of the air intake temp sensor. If you know otherwise please refer me to the source of the data.

    EO Graduate

I'm certainly no expert ..... but I remember reading a post (or posts) on EO that one should give a new carrier 2 to 3 months before making any decision to jump ship. A little better than a month ago things slowed down a little for me and I started getting nervous ...... and thinking ...

RE: What companys pay the most per mile, and inclu Terry, I don't know that you were referring to me or my statement, but in any event just to be clear I wasn't criticizing FECC - just stating what was my understanding. BTW, that's a pretty good deal as far as getting paid FSC on the DH to...

What companys pay the most per mile, and include g

RE: What companys pay the most per mile, and inclu Fedex doesn't pay 100% FSC as I understand it - I think that changed last September IIRC - I believe they pay around 58% of FSC ? Hopefully someone with them will chime in.
