Yeah .... what Phil said ..... why couldn't this info be part of an individuals profile ? Sounds like something to turn the code-monkeys loose on ..... how 'bout it L ?

How many skids for a van ?

At my previous carrier I was required to have everything from the back of the seats in our Sprinter clear for long loads - that gave me around 13' 10" clear IIRC - I have hauled 3 (or more) skids quite a few times ..... although it didn't always pay extra. The most I've ever hauled was 8 skids...

    SPRINTER OWNERS I NEED HELP!

I'd basically agree with most of Greg's suggestions - although the last two would be tough. I don't think ya need to get a new Sprinter and if ya decide that sleeping in air that's below 60 degrees works for you, ask them to give the pneumonia vaccine when ya get your flu shot ..... me, I...

    Sprinter Transmission Line

Never heard of it happening ..... The cooler lines are steel - from the connections on the cooler (which is basically a large tank built into one side of the radiator) down to the bottom of the radiator/cooler. Then you have a pair of short rubber flexible lines ...... similar to say a power...

Saving Money By Extending Your Oil Change Interval

RE: Saving Money By Extending Your Oil Change Inte Greg, I was replying to your comment: "The actual oil does not break down unless there is a lot of heat involved." The comment almost makes it seem as though unless you experienced some sort of abnormal temperatures in your engine, the oil...

    Fuel prices- Again

My father started in business in 1929 down in South Akron, near the Firestone Rubber plant complex. He rented a small service/filling station ...... and bought gasoline for 9 cents per gallon and sold it for 11 (considered a fair profit at the time.) He absolutely loved to tell this story ...

Saving Money By Extending Your Oil Change Interval

RE: Saving Money By Extending Your Oil Change Inte That filtering oil (removing particles of whatever size) doesn't do anything to rejuvenate oil that has become chemically contaminated from the combustion process ? Although you can remove particulate matter with a regular old filter it...

    Sprinter Towing Capacity

I have a 2006 Sprinter 2500 and a 2005 Dodge RAM 3500 SRW 6-speed with a Cummins in it. I've towed a trailer with a Kubota mini-excavator on it that weighed around 12K total, for trailer and mini-ex. There's NO WAY I would ever try and tow anything as heavy as you are talking about with a...

new GPS model on the market

Friend of mine was interested in getting a GPS and awhile back had me bring over my StreetPilot 7200 and stick it in his Toyota Highlander while we and our spouses went out to dinner. He decides he wants the big screen (his eyes ain't so good) and is all set to order for around $800 off Amazon...

The cat got to big for me so time for a change

Heya Moot ! Thanks - looking forward to spending my time running more paid miles and considerably less deadhead, hopefully. On the Sprinter, I'm working on getting it set up. I had the Original Mattress Factory up in Cleveland (Thanks Terry !) make me up a custom sleeper mattress (36 x 66)...

The cat got to big for me so time for a change

Brian, Glad (I think) to hear that maybe the guy might not be exactly the most reliable as far as being a source goes. Totally agree as far as giving it at least a couple of months to get any kind of an idea. Look forward to meeting ya at orientation.

The cat got to big for me so time for a change

Brian, I don't want to steal the thunder from your thread ..... but I'm in a similar situation myself - I just terminated our contract with our carrier effective yesterday and I will be at orientation at Bolt on Monday. I obviously can't speak to the not getting pay info with load offers thing...

Any Expediters Affected by California Fires?

The wife's nephew and his spouse live up in the Canyons around SD - they're fine and were evacuated .... but no word on their house yet. Her niece (sister of the nephew) is getting married in November ..... in SD .... dunno if that's going to happen at this point or not.

    Cargo Van Rates

Rev, I hear what you're saying ..... and generally agree .... but sometimes it ain't so simple. Give ya an example ... we have a customer that we haul for. The loads aren't really expedite (as in time critical, or even exclusive use) - but the cargo is expensive and delicate - something they...

    Cargo Van Rates

OVM, Bolt's website doesn't say 3500 lbs .... it says 3200 lbs. ...... For what's worth the GVWR on a 2006 2500 with a 140 wheelbase (the middle one) is 8550 lbs, with 4990 lb curb weight, and a stated payload capacity of 3560 lbs. In 2006 and prior model years, the stated Sprinter specs for...
