    Idleaire closes

Truckers pay a lot of fuel tax. That tax should all be used on the roads. We all know that it is not. It is used to fund all kinds of things that truckers seldom if ever use. We do not get the full benefit of the tax dollars we spend. If congress cannot spend the money where it should be spent...

Toyota, is it too much to ask to be like them?

Let's hope that they get their act together. The country needs a strong auto industry. It is vital to our defense. It is up to both union and management to get off their butts and fix this stuff. It is not that hard, you just have to want to fix it. Old habits die very hard. Everything got...

Toyota, is it too much to ask to be like them?

I don't doubt that some things change. They need to do a better job of getting the word out. The quality had better be there or saying that things are better and then falling down again will make it worse. I know that I am NOT impressed with my 2002 F250. I have had to get the front hubs...

Toyota, is it too much to ask to be like them?

Happy to hear that bad workers can be gotten rid of. That was always a problem. I could never understand why the UAW protected them. Seems to me that they would know that if the company failed, so did they. Seen a lot of that stuff at Great Lakes Steel when I worked there. Drunks, guys smoking...

    New lease agreements?

We already carry a scanner and printer on the truck. Having a direct link to FedEx will make it better. We will still need to carry them, for other than FedEx work. Glad to hear about the 7/10th thing, one more question answered. I have mixed feelings about the E-logging, mainly because of...

    Suggestions?

We have no emergency this time, just a 2325 mile DH. The tickets are less than the fuel to run it. Other than the parking problem, security etc, the only other problem we can see is that we will be in L.A. when we get back. :(

Toyota, is it too much to ask to be like them?

Things can change, they need to. I remember the short while that I worked at Ford, the Wayne Assembly Plant in Wayne Mich. That was way back in 1969. I was not there long, Ford got rid of me when they found out that I had a 1A draft status and the UAW did not care since I was not a member yet...

    New lease agreements?

We have no use for the gps part, we have had on on the truck for years. While we are already able to scan and email documents this system, once it is up will make it faster and much less of a hassle. My mind is not yet made up on the Elogging but there is no way around it. I think there might be...

Thanks for the input. We are thinking about it flying home. We would have to DH from L.A. to Monroe, MI. Plane tickets are much less than the fuel for that drive not to mention the wear and tear and the 3 days.

I know that some in here have parked their truck and flown home to avoid a long DH or in an emergency. Where did you park your truck? Did you have any problems? Would you do it again? Has anyone done this more than once? With fuel back up around $3 per gallon flying from coast to coast might...

    Strange roadkill

That $7 bounty has had no effect on the hog population in Texas. They are very had to hunt and access to land to hunt is a problem in Texas as well. No, I did not see any of the Lecter movies, other than Silence of the Lambs. I missed that scene. Those hogs you saw could have been feral...
