    Cherry Picking?

Only you know if a run is profitable for you or not. If something comes acrossed with 0 pieces or 0 weight, it is because a customer has booked a truck within certain perameters that your truck fits. For example, a customer may just say, "send me a 16 footer, and my load is between 5 and 8...

    We had to leave Panther...

They still do empty moves as another said, but they are not automatically generated. You have to call in, and be sitting at least 24 hours I believe? Not sure if the direction you want is factored in? We seldom ever use it, but have within the last 30 days once. The day or so before Thanksgiving...

    King Pins

When you get your alignment, I would advise doing a laser alignment on the whole truck. A deteriorated or missing shim on your back axle would affect the tire wear on your front end. It may not be king pins at all. A good alignment and suspension mechanic will find this problem. Additionally...

My morning at the tire store!

I believe on Panthers plan, it is either 50 or 60 dollars per casing, unless they deem them damaged ect. They use Goodyear and TA for fleet discounts. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

    Union Update!

I have to go with Rich and the others on this one. Two months in the industry in addition to only posting about unions doesn't leave you much credibility. These posts come and go and have no application to our industry. Once you have a better understanding to the economics and operations of...

    Investment Idea

They are all valid points. The risks are too high for what the return would be in that described situation. Too many investments out there with a greater return unless you are holding alot of insurance and or collateral. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

    Greggs trucks

I hope you consider charging admission to view the final product. Additional fees of course would be incurred if photos are taken. I just hope there aren't too many bookings for an appointment. Got my glasses! Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

In response to message #9 Got to love the standard response to sitting can’t you guys come up with new material? And again what is dispatch for then if going to dispatch your own truck why pay a company a large % of the profit...

    Epediting in the Southwest

You might stand a chance in LA, but that is it for consistent business. Any other locations, I would sell them prior to going out there. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

I think you are going to have to come up in price. Most would have to bobtail back after dropping your trailer. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

Is owning a truck the same as owning a buisness?

RE: Is owning a truck the same as owning a buisnes Might be a good idea if you want to hang on to your truck. Unless of course you are sitting there with a winning lottery ticket or banking on a miracle out of that New Testament. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

    We had to leave Panther...

THawk read me right. Either move or find your own load. Memphis averages 5 loads a day and Nashville averages 10, with last week doing almost 20 a day. 10 trucks in an area only matters if you know the number of outbound loads. I believe you will need that skill at many other carriers as well...

Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working for

RE: Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working Rich, I would say your last sentence is the best description. Giving the drivers only a portion of the FSC, and subsidizing some non paying customers with FSC dollars from another is another example. It really looks like an issue that might want...

Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working for

RE: Hows the the new FedEx CC FSC program working I find it troubling that someone is trying to justify why a company should keep a portion of the driver's FSC. I think this thread as well has run its course. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator
