    Contemplating C or D unit

I believe Panther's "D" unit qualifications are a 18 to 24 foot box, and must be able to carry 9501 lbs or higher. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

FINALLY good news for the next election

I would want to know where he is at on more specific issues, but I like what I have heard so far. With following the politics somewhat in TN, he has done well. He has a much better history than Al Gore does. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

    Dream Truck

Kenworth T-800 out front, 12' box at the rear, with the remaining space in the middle consumed by a custom Bentz sleeper. We are very comfortable when on the road. Well, there is one thing missing... a fireplace. ================================================== Sounds like you guys have the...

    pacer global logistics

Thanks for the info. We have done quite a few Toyota loads so that is always good for an additional source of loads. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

    freight

Tractor and straight truck freight has been preety good out there the last two years. I expect that to continue for all Panther folks with the aquisition of a west coast logistics company. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

The information from Panther is new, verses performance based over a period of time. I thought the van count was higher, so I certainly stand corrected. I don't follow the vans that close, so that one got by me. As far as vans in general, I think it is very competitive for them, just because of...

    cabover expeditor?

What you are asking Ark, is a normal occurance for us. Decking allows us 60 foot of cargo space, and the quad axle allows a 66K Gross and a net of 40K if we need it. Not too small a load, eh? ====================================================== Wow, imagine that. And I thought we were the...

When cold, I am surprised there is any oil in it, as it should all be in the pan. The next option once you know for sure you have a replacement filter is to take a punch and put a hole in the filter to drain it that way. That way you can control any place that the oil would go. I have never...

One Load for a Week totaly unsat.

All of a sudden, those backhauls start looking good after sitting a week. I don't think I would sit in FL a week waiting on a load. I don't think there is a fear of missing "the big one" Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

To avoid the mess when changing the oil filter Phil, change the oil when the engine is cold. Only a few drops or so should come out. We use to use a small plastic tupperware bowl to catch any drips. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

It is possible they now have the same van count, but with a slower economy, I see less activity in several areas. Straight trucks and tractors may feel a little less of a pinch because they are much easier to load. As mentioned, the NLM market is much less than last year. That has a major impact...

A few more vans than last year because of the Conway sale, and slumping auto sales. We have been busy, but slightly behind last year. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

Usually it is from a belt that is too loose or too tight. More likely the latter. Too much pressure on the shaft will mess up the seal. Kabota should be able to tell when they work on it. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

Refer weight and over all weight questions

If one is running D classed freight at C rates, that would be enough for me to have a billed pulled to see what the customer actually paid, regardless of what the dollar amount was. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator

The water pump belt won't have anything to do with it. The main drive belt between the engine and the actual generator is the one I was talking about. If that drive belt is not installed correctly, it will damage the seal on the back of the engine. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO...

Sorry to hear about your situation. I will tell you up front that I know very little about Pony Packs other than the occassional ad I see. As for your leaking oil seal, a Kabota dealer should be able to fix that. Did you just change a drive belt? Usually the Kabota engines are pretty reliable...

    Running low on fuel

We had water in the fuel issues twice this year, and drained the tanks on two different trucks. Both times were Pilot fuel. Needless to say, we don't buy fuel at Pilot unless there are no options. Davekc owner 22 years PantherII EO moderator
