    It's a Merry Christmas Month

Well let's get real entertaining then. Let me ask you one question... Have you ever been to Espar of Michigan and conducted any business with them?

Religious dudes and dudettes - a Judas question

The definition of a True Christian depends entirely on whom one is talking to, but it would also appear that in essence, every Christian believes they are the real deal True Christian. Every Christian believes they hear directly from god, that they are inspired and lead by the Holy Spirit...

    It's a Merry Christmas Month

Well, that and the fact you don't want to answer the very pointed questions I asked of you. You had no point to make, all you were doing is using second and third hand information, and embellished assumption, to reach a flawed conclusion that you presented as fact. It's not like you've never...

Jailed for a 5 cent theft

A little more to the story... the police statement: We received a 911 call advising that someone was plugged into the power outlet behind the middle school. The responding officer located the vehicle in the rear of the building at the kitchen loading dock up against the wall with a cord run...

    It's a Merry Christmas Month

The price didn't jump by $1000 in recent years. The $2000 quote is for a D4 without the AGM batteries, and the $3000 is with them.

I'd tell you about the 12-volt Espar Hydronic Coolant Heater that runs off the diesel tank and the house battery just like the Airtonic does, but it takes a week to get parts and you have to wait forever to get in for service. :D

Jailed for a 5 cent theft

It's incredibly easy to ague. Electricity is a form of energy, not a type or form of fuel. Power and fuel are not the same thing. Fuel is not energy, but contains potential energy. The potential energy stored in a fuel can be converted into any number of types of energy, including the chemical...

    Non CDL Truck Question

Just for completeness, the regs are also based on actual weight. Meaning, if the GVWR sticker on the door says 9,999 pounds, that's not a CMV, but if you overload the truck so that it now actually weighs 10,002 pounds, it's a CMV and requires logging and stuff. So if it's a 26,000 truck, which...

    battery advice for a sprinter

Bosch - MY 2002-2006 Bosch/Valeo - MY 2007-2013 So, any Sprinter with a Bosch or a Valeo alternator. Any alternator with internal voltage sensing or single wire self-exciting alternators won't work with an isolator and require a separator/combiner instead. (Inbox is cleared)

Jailed for a 5 cent theft

"In the police report, the officer said he could not find the vehicle’s owner but found the car doors unlocked and picked up a piece of mail on the car floor showing a Decatur address." The low-down, good-for-nothing perp, Kaveh Kamooneh, addressed that very issue with police. Theft by taking...

    Ohioans are Rude Potty Mouths

Well, they were all calls to customer service departments, most to call centers, so I'm not sure how a particular industry would make any difference. Pіssed off is pіssed off whether it's a satellite dish company or a cell phone company. :D On the other hand, many people are consciously...

    battery advice for a sprinter

So one of our drivers had to wait a week to get in, and that somehow translates to Ray's "service IF you can get in, is slow at best.."? I once pulled into a Ford dealer on a Monday and was told they couldn't get me in until Thursday of the following week. That's 10 days. What does that mean...

    battery advice for a sprinter

I think I've said at least twice in this thread that a pair of $500 batteries for an Espar heater is overkill, and that all that is needed is one cheap marine battery. But yes, if you buy a pair of $500 batteries, then doing so will add $1000 to the price. It's simple math, really.

I dunno, but I do think it's interesting that after signing up a year and a half ago, you finally chose this thread, in the Soapbox, to make your first posts. As for truck stops, for years they advertised electrical outlets in every restaurant booth so you can charge your laptop or cell phone...

    60/40 split

Vans pay about 95 cents a mile on average, depending on the carrier you are with. 60 percent of that is 57 cents, out of which you'll pay for fuel and tolls. You'll end up getting 30-35 cents a mile driving someone else's van at 60/40. Figure 1200 miles a week average (most are less than that)...

    battery advice for a sprinter

I'm not sure where you are getting your information, but everything you've just stated in the quoted text is incorrect. The difference between the $2000s and $3000s (for a D4) is the price of two $500 batteries. His apples-to-apples pricing hasn't changed hardly at all over the years. Supply...

Jailed for a 5 cent theft

Yeah, theft is theft, but arresting the guy for stealing a nickel's worth of electricity is like getting arrested for farting in class. It's ridiculous. And one wonders why the US has the highest arrest and incarceration rate in the world.

I don't even know what that sentence means. I do know that if you buy a pair of $500 batteries, that it's going to add $1000 to the price. So, 12 hours labor to install an Espar.
