High cost of heating got ya down

I'm inclined to agree .... when we put up the "barn" we didn't pull any permits since we were doing it under the ag exemption. Our township had recently incorporated and the guys in zoning/planning actually advised to "get it put up now" ... since as a "city" there would likely be more...

This sounds an awful like someone here in the box.

Witness, That's some pretty funny stuff .... Of I guess I really shouldn't be surprised - no tellin' what all one might find in the retard-o-sphere .... Good job ;)

"Illegal" ponds .... seriously ? I mean yeah ..... I guess I could see it if it was technically designated as a wetland/marsh/etc ..... or if there was something growing/living/inhabiting the area that was listed as threatened or endangered .... On the very back of our property (near the now...

High cost of heating got ya down

Yeah .... fortunately I was able to just push over almost all of the trees with the FEL .... then just cut off the rootball with the chainsaw and use the pallet forks to haul 'em off ..... just a couple of big poplars that I really had to dig out with the 'hoe (below) .... Wish I would have...

Given the species you mentioned, I'd think you would get some interest. Every little bit always does ;) Know the feeling ... I got big plans here  .... unfortunately, I'm finding as I get older, my body seems less willing to keep up with what my mind envisions .... Glad to be...

I gave both mine and my wife's name (although she never comes on here) when I originally signed up. I later removed that information from my profile for the reasons that Diva stated. Considering that I have been explicitly threatened physically once (and possibly implicitly several more...

I agree (even s-p-o-o-k-i-e-r :p :D) If one is at all aware of of the various indications of the personal beliefs/convictions (particularly politics and religion) of most, if not all moderators, it is awfully hard to draw any other conclusion. I think you may be on to something here ..... :D

As long as such actions can be tracked back to separate (if unknown) identities for each moderator, I would think that it wouldn't necessarily be an issue - people would know that Moderator X was so inclined (and could complain about it) - provided that some effort was made to ensure that any...

DD, Yup - totally valid point - and you are entirely correct ;) IMHO, really good moderation, for the most part, should be exactly as you say - short, to the point, tightly controlled (by the moderator speaking), and dispassionate - without any rancor, tirade, or any disparaging...

Since you mentioned hardwoods, you might want to consider posting something over on arborists site. Arborist Site There are individuals who own their own portable bandsaw mills, who are not necessarily big-time commercial, that are into woodworking as a hobby/craft/small side business -...

Greg, I think it's a good idea ..... although I would suggest that the required number of posts before being allowed into the Soapbox be set higher - 100 posts at a minimum ..... That, and a little tighter moderation in the forums that could be accessed by someone sporting multiple identities...

barry Leaves "By their Creator" Out of Declaration of Independence speech

Nothing odd about your comment Greg - as you point out the Declaration predates the fundamental document that defines and creates who we are. And as Dennis points out - the Declaration deserves proper respect as a part of our history. However, if there a case of the glass being half full vs...

Union workers refuse to build mosque near ground zero

Could be very well be ..... the tendency towards truly criminal conduct is becoming rather commonplace throughout the general population is it not ? Of course, the headline would then be: "Criminal American Mob Attacks Foreign Workers Supporting Religious Freedom" Another case of outstanding...

Union workers refuse to build mosque near ground zero

The Law of Unintended Consequences never sleeps and is always hard at work .... It doesn't take a genius to figure out the resultant headline: "American Union Workers, Unwilling To Support Religious Freedom, Replaced With Foreigners" Such headlines will no doubt make us respected throughout...
