Thinking of signing on with a company

Okay, I have been doing lots of research. Does one of those extended cab trucks from International or Freightliner(cab is extended 26") qualify as a sleeper for DOT purposes? The trucks do have a divider curtain and a mattress back there.

    PC Miler 430 GPS

I have a Garmin 250W and love it. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of the newer ones but the maps are the same. I heard the newer ones have lane assist which would be really nice in the larger cities. I would think between the Garmin and the Road Carrier atlas you would be set in my...

Thinking of signing on with a company

The lease would not be thru the company I'd be leasing from Penske, Ryder or Idealease or whatever companies lease trucks. Personally I think leasing a car is a ripoff but the idea of all maintenance and breakdowns being coverd on a truck sounds appealling as big trucks can cost big money to...

We don't like your kind around here.

Two rest areas in Indiana along US 30 just west of Fort Wayne are closing due to the age of the buildings and cost of upkeep and both of those are always loaded with trucks even on the on and off ramps. So if you want to start writing contact Mitch Daniels Gov. LOL I think the rest stops are...

    For thoes who want out.

The problem with a voluntary repo is that they will auction the truck off at way below wholesale and then you end up owing the difference, plus a voluntary repo is just as bad as a regular repo on your credit. A short sale is the best if the finance company will go for it, or try to get a...

    lift gates

My truck at work has a Waltco lift. It works well and is aluminum so it is light weight. Plus it is huge. It folds in half. We move pallets of paper with it. It is nearly flat to the ground unlike the smaller steel gates that have the lip. It folds under the truck and we are able to back...

    Sudden death?

Like I said, I backup from one hard drive to the other one. This covers me unless my laptop gets damaged, an external hard drive would also work if you keep it in a safe place. Carbonite just gives you added security. Nothing in this world is 100% safe. Right now the important stuff i.e...

    Things will be slow.

Things maybe slow in some areas, but not in others. I deliver FedEx Smart Post to the United States Postal Service daily. The skids of parcels are big and getting bigger as Christmas approaches. Most of these items are from catalog sales and internet. It seems to me that people are...
