    ...fish flies!

It must be what we northerners call May Flies. You get so they don't bother you much. They don't bite or anyting like that. By the way. Did you know that Michigan once fought a little war over who gets Toledo? I guess we won but we didn't fight hard enough for you to take Detroit too.

Good luck to you. You've done your homework so you shouldn't get too many surprises........but I guarantee you will have a few. Hope to see you out there sometime.

    My first three months

There sure seems to be a lot of difference between dealers of any make. Every time I get my ancient FL70 worked on at my local Freight liner dealer I feel like I've been had. Then I had an emergency repair done at the Freightliner dealer in Texarcana TX and they treated me well, charged me a...

    Flying J heated fuel .

I could'nt believe it. I fueled up at the J in Perrysburg OH on July 1. As I fueled the nozzle got progressively warmer. I wish I had a laser pyrometer to check it but it became warm to the touch. In order for water to feel that warm it would be 90 to 100 degrees. This is my favorite truck...

    AlumiBunk Got me

You know, That post really put things into perspective for me. I was crying in my beer about spending $700.00 on an oil pan because of someone elses error. Now I'm standing back and counting my blessings. Things aren't going so bad for me after all. Raceman witnessed something I hope I...

A little humor and a question

I can remember cleaning up a car, detailing it, removing all rust and touching it up. Looked great and took me all winter. Within a month some kid with no license and no insurance ran into it and totaled it out. Go figure.

    Study of Truck Aerodynamic Devices

Where do you find all this stuff? Now I feel obligated to work up a ground effects truck so I can be the first FL70 to get 20 mpg. I'll be the one going by at 80 mph. Maybe I need a stealth device too come to think of it.:) :) :)

    Drip, Drip, Drip

I usually use Speedco but this place was handy to where I was Parked and it was a brand name place. I keep kicking myself because there was a Speedco within 15 miles of where I was sitting. Oh well. Lesson learned. A shame it had to cost like tuition for higher education.

    Drip, Drip, Drip

I've been to about 6 places today and finally gave up. I'm replacing the oil pan at the Sterling dealer here. Tried Freightliner and they wanted someting like list plus 10% fot the pan plus a whole bunch for emergency overnight freight. Sterling didn't have it either but could get it just as...

    Drip, Drip, Drip

Had my oil changed at a quiick oil change [not Speedco]. The guy screwed up my drain plug and repaired it with a standard Helicoil without asking me. Needless to say it started leaking within a few days. Now I'm having trouble getting it fixed. Freightliner had it for a day and decided I...

    The ProHeat ordeal continues

I very nearly bought a Pro Heat six months ago. I guess I'm glad I decided to wait a while. How has the reliability been on the Rigmaster units? Anyone out there have one of those?????

    Synthetic oil

I've used synthetic oils for several applications. The hydraulic oil is amazing in cold weather and eliminates hydraulic loading drag completely. I love the stuff in air cooled engines and smaller auto engines as well. My best buddy lost an engine to sludge caused by synthetic oil in his...

    RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

Yup. I'm a 6' 1" USCG veteran myself. It was fun and I had experiences that are hard to believe. As I recall the rules of engagement were. 1. If it moves salute it 2. If it doesn't move paint it.

Care and Feeding of the Owner Operator

I've worked both sides of the fence. I've seen one broker pay the driver on PC Miler shortest and bill the customer PC Miler Practical. Then keep half the fuel surcharge and charge their percentage against the driver after that. If someone would follow your formula they would retain drivers...

    Greiger Motors AAAA++++++ Panther2 AAAAA++++++

RE: Greiger Motors AAAA++++++ Panther2 AAAAA++++ Amen........... Don't be in a hurry to add another truck. Freight is slow for me in a "D" truck and I hear it's much slower in the vans. Welcome to the fray. If you've got the reserves you can do very well in a sprinter. Good luck.

    Fuel Prices

I've been running my own little study on profitability for the past six months. Actually it will be six months at the end of this month. I decided to take all loads that could be run legally regardles of where they went or deadhead involved etc. I'm doing this to prove or disprove the theory...

    What do you think?

funny you should ask this question. I've been thinking about this one quite a lot lately. My daughter recently got married and we are now empty nesters. The wife would like me home more now because she's alone most of the time. I think the $600 per week figure would work for a while...

    Velocity????

Saw an ad for Velocity Logistics in the latest Expedite Now. I've never run into these people before. Kinda makes me feel like I've been on some other planet. Anyway, anyone know anything about them?

    Where's da freight????

I'm not with FedEx but I'm running real slow right now. This business has it's ups and downs and it's sometimes hard to adjust. No-one made any big promises to me or led me down the garden path. Things are just slow and I have a talent for ending up in a bad spot to load out of. I'm sure my...
