    Expedite Expo Expedite Expo 2006

Sounds like fun. I worked a lot of shows in my past life. It's hard to plan that far ahead anymore but it shouldn't be. I'll help when and where you need me.

    Getting my bearings

Although it may be unusual there could be another reason for the bearing failure. I spent 20 years as an automotive aftermarket auto parts rep and I can assure you that it's not un-heard of to have a defective part. Though many of the defective parts I wrote off to warranty were probably not...

    van heat

I have 3 isolated batteries and a Wabastco heater. I can run my heater, tV and DC cooler for 12 hours without running the van. It doesn't take too long to get the payback for the investment in the system when you aren't running the truck.

    Sprinter Idle Speed

The Sprinters that have the factory Hi-idle system seem to run at 2000 rpm. I tried that and it sounded like the pistons were changing holes so I idle at 1100 when I idle. I had a Dodge dealer tell me anything over 1000 rpm is ok. I don't have the hi tech system. I just made a little idle...

    Grocries

I spend very little on groceries. (that I can trace) My wife will cook normal sized meals while I'm gone and freeze whats left. When I leave I take as many as will fit into my DC cooler and generally they will last for the first week out and a little more. I'll leave on a monday and work...

I remember their frequent helpful posts. I hope all goes well and their lives can return to normal. Tell them for me that they are missed.

    SAY WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been lucky in this area, mostly because I'm an old chubby guy that looks and is happily married but..... I'd say avoid the TA in Wildwood FL. I know the truck stop management isn't supposed to condone this stuff going on in their lot but they have to be in on it at this one. I pulled in...

Prayer, faith and worship while on the road

I use the XM family talk channel on sunday. They have church services all morning. Has anyone tried those truck stop ministries chapels? For some reason, I can't get myself into one of those trailers. Thanks for the wakeup call. I'll try a harder to spend more time each day in communication...

    waiting for loads

5 days in Janesville WI. That was my first week ever and I didn't know anything about the business. Now if I spend more than 48 hours in a place, it's because I like it there. Whether freight is slow or not if you're sitting more than 48 hours, you're in the wrong place.;)

    I love to drive

That about says it all. ...... The advice is correct but sometimes the smart thing to do seems wrong. Go figure.

    Warm weather's a-coming

Ok Sprinter folks. I cured the cold weather blues with a Webasto heater but what do you do in hot weather? I've got my home-made idle stick and I insulated my van but it's gonna get hot in there unless I idle for extended periods. It never bothered me to idle the old FL70 (except for the cost)...

    Believe in Miracles

That's a very good hospital. I've had family in there including my wife. I hope things go well toward a full recovery. I too believe in miracles and I know where they come from.

Best week in a LONG time...

This must be the absolute worsttttttttttt first quarter in my experience. Still, I've had some good weeks and at the end of the month it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I moved from a "D" to a Sprinter because my arthritic knees were bothering me so it's hard to judge when to stay and...

    Cargo Van or Sprinter?

I've had a Sprinter now for about 6 months. I like it for the space inside and the mileage is great. It's a little pricey on service but I came from a "D" truck where service is pricey anyway. My "D" truck spoiled me so now I want the comforts. I built a sleeper in it with a folding bunk and...

    Rene'

Rene will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers on monday. Hang in there Terry. I know from personal experience how helpless and stressed you can feel when your spouse is going through a medical crisis. Things do seem to have a way of working out most of the time though. ... Please keep us all...

Layin up at home... WHAT A &%*#@ BAD IDEA

I'm feeling your pain. I sat at the Detroiter for two days and gave up. I commited to a bunch of honey do jobs and headed home. Yup, now I'm getting the load offers. By the way Highwaystar if you have to ask what a mojo is you don't have one.:7 :7 :7

I would like you to know that you are not alone and a cancer diagnosis is serious but not hopeless. My wife of 40 years was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer when she was 39. She probably wouldn't appreciate my telling you this but she has been 39, 20 more times since. We have had our...

Guys you need to lighten up

My comment about the white Sprinter was my way of being a smart a--. Of course most Sprinters are white. Anyway, if you can pick me out of the crowd, I'm buying the coffee.
