    Staying warm this winter?

Put a Carbon Monoxide detector in your truck or van, your life depends on it. :) The best 20 to 50 bucks you'll ever spend and will give you piece of mind

    jumper box

I'd just go for a nice long heavy duty set of jumper cables. You can almost always find someone to help you out. Stay away from the short and cheap ones Not sure how often you would need to recharge those self contained jumpers, I do know you have to plug em in to charge em

Winter, straight truck starting problems Hino specifically

I don't think it snows in Japan  The newer freightliners and internationals have the same problems, so it probably is due to the timing, compression or the low sulfur diesel who knows

    dogs

What about a trucking duck? YouTube - Trucking Duck - Very Cute - Check My Info to the Right I think a cat is a good road companion as it can use a litter box and you don't have to walk it, when it is snowing or raining

Winter, straight truck starting problems Hino specifically

I do plan on using the additives, I wonder if the newer trucks are harder to start due to the reformulated diesel and that most is mixed with biodiesel, or maybe the fuel systems on these trucks are just more fickel No matter how long you crank some of these newer trucks they just won't fire...

Winter, straight truck starting problems Hino specifically

Hmmm, not sure does your truck have glow plugs or an intake heater. FL70 is a pre 2000 truck I assume The newer Internationals, Hino, Freightliner M2's all will not start when it gets cold. I'm speaking from experience on all these trucks, since I have driven all makes of medium duty trucks...

    van line haul distance

I am not saying we need more regulation. I am saying we need more common sense. Something this world is lacking. If it is nasty out most likely you won't be out driving as long because you will be fatigued. Yes, most anyone can drive for 18 hours, but are they doing it safely? I think...
