Would you be willing to shut down??

What you have to remember is that our friend Dan here who started this thread, is the very guy who started this whole strike thing. He is now visiting our site in hopes of stirring up a bunch of folks over this issue. Once this is over, we will probably never see him again. He will probably...

    Baby Freightshaker/Dodge Sprinter vs. Ford/Chevy/GMC

Terry, Yes, unfortunately that 6.0L engine has proved to be much different that the old 7.3L. The fact that Ford used them even in class 6 trucks is a testimony to them. Some things are just better left alone.

    Truck strike- rumor or FYI

The 4/1 strike is real. However, how many trucks will shut down and for how long remains to be seen. Also, what will they be striking to obtain? Lower diesel? LMAO. A lot of truckload guys are suffering because they don't know how to negotiate w/ a broker. Some big brokerages try and see...

    Jiffy Lube caught on camera

Yep. I blew the engine on a cago van because of Tires Plus. They charged me for oil changes, but because I never allowed them time to do their 30 point inspection to sell me more services, they never did the work. Some dealers are just as bad, but generally the "express lube" kind of places...

    Firearm Choices

As far as I know, it's illegal to have one in a commercial motor vehicle. Sad, but true. Probably better off with stuff that doesn't look like a concealed weapon, such as a kiddie baseball bat. Can someone tell me if pepper spray is illegal in the truck? I'd want one of the big "Dog" Chapman...

    Increase MPG

Yeah, I can't vouch for them (airtabs) because I've never tried them. They seem a reasonable value if they only help the maneuverability of the truck in the wind. I've already found I saved fuel by slowing down. The two things I do want to try now are airtabs and NITROGEN in the tires.

    Increase MPG

Airtabs are something I'm gonna try as well. I think you cn order enough to cover your box for about 200 bucks or so.

    2006 SPRINTER IN FLORIDA

Don't this guy at all, but he has a very uneducated opinion. There is plenty of freight in and out of Florida these days. Some carriers are just too lazy to find you a load out when they don't have their own customers based in FL. Those same carriers are usually too lazy to invest in sending...

Need Input/Opinions on Cargo Van Idea

Find some brokers that deal in auto transport. You will need an MC number and state permits though. In fact, I had a broker call me yesterday who does a lot of auto transport. He said their website was: Triton Worldwide Transport, Inc. - Triton Worldwide Transport, Inc. You'll need to check...

    Favorite stretch of road

Love that stretch of highway. I love how when you're heading west, the scenery begins to change around 50 miles west of San Antonio. Everything turns from green to brown, and all the nice big trees are replaces by little brown scrubs and tumbleweed. Every now and then there's a roadrunner...

    Favorite stretch of road

Yeah, southern Los Angeles county is always a great place to play a game of "I spy a fried chicken joint." The challenge is not in seeing a fried chicken joint. It's picking out the same one that the person spying has chosen, while sitting at any given intersection.

Ah yes. I love that scenic view going I-105 through Watts, Ca just before dark. Actually, if I really want the good view, I get off and drive down Rosecrans.......

    Class D or C? Confused.

A class 7 truck can be a D unit. Many are. When you throw a 96 inch sleeper with a toity and shower in it, you take away from the weight of the freight it can haul. If you're suddenly less than the 12 or 13000 that your carrier requires to be a D, then you must find a way to up the amount of...
