Franklin Graham and the cultural battles.

Being "tolerant" isn't being unfriendly at all towards anybody. However, openly and actively promoting something that Christians are against is "sort of" being unfriendly towards Christians (and anyone else who opposes it). As another example, the 2 years I lived in Pittsburgh, I regularly...

They're ignoring the religious community at large. The religious community doesn't fit in with the activism.

Yep, pure activism, and their comments prove it. The campaign as a whole is about the diversity of their customers and how Wells Fargo can be the bank for you, no matter who you are. They have, I think, 7 different commercials so far, none of which show their commitment to the Christian...

Well, in this case, the gay baker agreed to bake them a cake, in the shape of a bible, no less, but drew the line at putting the anti-gay message on the cake. It's the same as the Christian baker who will bake the gay couple a cake, no problem, but draws the line at creating the pro-gay...

They're aren't many people who believe that. Some, sure, but not many. It's not a question of serving them, it's a question of whether or not the state should compel someone to endorse, be complicit in, or participate in the expression of a political or moral message. So you think the gay...

The only people freaking out about what's between people's legs are the muli-gender activists who have removed "biological gender" from their vocabulary and will only refer to someone's sex as the gender "assigned at birth." They are, quite literally, denying reality.

Yeah, sort of. The commercial wasn't specifically anti Christian, but it was blatantly pro "two mommies." The ad took a specific political position on gay marriage. "We understand it may not resonate with everybody, but it taps into something important and universal, and is an expression of...

Yeah, as far as I know, the state doesn't compel actors to say lines, any more than they prohibit them from saying lines. Acting is, literally, artistic expression. How about this scenario... A gay baker is asked to bake a cake, but instead of a generic cake to serve the general public, the...

Franklin Graham and the cultural battles.

What Wells Fargo did was pretty over the top. They overtly promoted same sex marriage and raising children in such a marriage as being both normal and just wonderful. So wonderful, in fact, that it was hard to tell if they were advertising banking services or gay marriage.

Being right about what you report is also going to be important, otherwise you create a "Boy Who Cried Wolf" syndrome and you'll soon get ignored. If someone is overweight in a van or box truck, they have to actually weigh more than 10,000 pounds in order to be illegal. If they self-derated...

Religion and God are not the same. Even allowing that God was there from the beginning, or even before the beginning, religion was not. Religion is essentially the rules for the ways people worship, people adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices. Anthropological and archaeological...

No, it's not OK to refuse service to someone when it's part of service to the public. I don't think anyone, least of all me, is suggesting such a thing. If you own a bakery shop and someone, say, a gay someone, walks in and wants to buy a dozen donuts or buy a cake, you sell them whatever they...

The original intent is pretty clear, one, no establishment of an official religion, and two, no interfering with the free exercise of religion. Baking a cake, or not baking it, does not impose any belief into anyone. And, the right to worship is only a small part of what constitutes "the free...

With respect to the exercise of religion, it actually does mean freedom of actions, if the opposing belief puts a substantial burden on the exercise of that religion. Incidentally, the notion that disrespect requires a response, lest it escalate, is horse hockey. I have been disrespected many...
