    New refrigerator

In case any one is interested. When my Norcold went out I ordered one off e-bay. The sellers name was wholesale-marine. They are out of Ohio. Fantastic people. I ordered on a Tuesday afternoon and it was on my door step 22 hours later. His prices were really good too even after figuring in the...

    FL70, 3126 muffler

When I replaced the muffler on my Cummins a few months back it was just under 300. So your price doesnt seem to far off. However my experiance is so great with muffler prices.

Cummins ISC 8.3 300 HP Turbo & Exhaust Manifold

800 is not bad at all. For some reason I had 2500 stuck in my head but thats for N14. Mine is a 2 piece manifold at it's cracked just in front of the turbo mount. Mechanic (cummins mechanic) says its common on this motor from the weight of the turbo. Thanks for the info both of you!

Do you have a truck stop addiction

Good post! I hate truck stops! The only time you will see me at one is for a shower or if its the closest place to park. I am pretty good at finding nice areas to park my straight truck. Never been kicked out of a spot yet! (knock on wood). Just use common sense and you will never have a problem.

Cummins ISC 8.3 300 HP Turbo & Exhaust Manifold

Was having the exhaust manifold changed on the truck becuase it was cracked. When the turbo was removed also found the turbo had a HUGE crack in it on the backside impossible to see until the unit was removed. Odd thing was there was no power loss or engine running hot. Anyone ever replace...

    Feedback: LDB's Experimental thread

Boy oh boy! If I only had the problems you people do to argue about banter or no banter. All of you need to go back re-read your comments and listen to yourselves. Try looking at this from an outsiders eyes. If I was a first time visiter to EO you bet it would be my last visit here...

    Trouble Getting Loads ?

Thanks! I also agree with you on the mis management. However there is not 1 company that I know of(including both of my biz's) that are managed 100% effective. As hard as you try they are never 100% perfect. Nor is every carrier right for everyone. To many variables!

    Trouble Getting Loads ?

Im not with a Large carrier such as Fed or Panther. I run Solo and in the last three weeks I have ran my tail off. The loads have been great, with good pay to boot! Just this week I left out Sunday night picked up 30 miles from the house and my home load for the weekend drops Tuesday morning...

    August 2010 locations

This week I took a load from Indy to Nogales AZ and then from Nogalez back to Detroit. About 3800 loaded miles with only 58 miles of deadhead all week. It sure would nice to have those kinds of weeks everyweek!

    Supplement during lean times

I actually have another business selling new & used parts on E-bay. It is a full legal LLC and I do extremely well at it! Most months my sales are over 10K. The wife does all the shipping from home everyday and when I am sitting idle in the truck I do my listings while waiting on other loads...

Dispacthers should be required to be a rider

Well I can you I have done both jobs. I dispatched for several years after driving several years. I am now driving again. I do believe every driver should be required to sit in with dispatch for a 1 week minimum and dispatchers ride with drivers for 1 week minimum. Both jobs have their...

    AVG Rate per mile

Just looking to get an average of what most of you are making for a avg. straight truck load. per loaded mile. No extras such as reefer, white glove ect ect. Do not have to mention carriers but lets be honest about the rates, and lets keep this as discreet carrier wise as possible so as not...

    Qualcomm Charges

As a O/O for Load-1 I prefer to keep using the Nextel / Boost system. If I have to pay for something that is mandated by the company I like the fact that it serves as a dual purpose reducing my costs. If we went the qualcom route I have to pay for that service + a cell phone.

    Roadcheck 2010

LOL SO TRUE! Checking your brakes requires laying on the ground and getting a bit dirty. The sides of the brake shoes are visable. Just take a rag and wipe the road grime away and have a GOOD look. Remember the dot will be checking very good so when you check your vehicle you have to...
