The roads out here are the worst. My Grandparents lived in the LAX area of California and for the 25 years they lived in the one house I never ever remember them repaving the street they lived on and it was in fine shape.

Do you have it set for shortest route or quickest route? If you have it set for shortest, it's gonna send you down every gravel road and through every town. I have the Garmin 200w and set on quickest and it keeps me on the highways mostly

You can and some do, I work for three different companies. Some companies won't allow this, it would be in your contract. It can be tough to keep three masters happy.
