We often don't do 3000 miles per week and we are a straight truck. The miles don't matter. It is how much those runs pay. A thousand mile run that pays a dollar a mile is not worth the effort. A 250 mile run that pays 800 is a better bet.

Well, I guess that we should just wait another 2 or 5 years before we do anything of value to increase the electric output. I mean, for the most part, we have done nothing for 30 years, why start now? Just wring our hands about the extreme, and continue with the brown outs etc. Sounds good. Plug...

FedEx Custom Critical ???? Are they what they say they are??

LOL, yeah I know what you mean, LOL!! :p FedEx does NOT say that it is impossible for a truck with a dog to run a White Glove load. What they DO say is that White Glove trucks should not have pets. WHY? Because MANY White Glove loads either restrict or prohibit pets on their sites. Since...

Well, I live within range of Fermi in Michigan, it does NOT scare me. If I had the chance I would move even closer, more country out there. Good duck hunting too. Lots of deer and rabbits. When I lived in PA I was on a fire department that was a decontamination center for both Three Mile...

    Obama's Leadership....Or Lack Of....

Yeah, just like Obama. He is laying back, side stepping as much as he can so HE won't have to take any heat. MORE proof that he is NO leader. Leaders are NOT afraid to take what heat may come their way. They have the courage of their convictions and stand by them regardless of what others say.

I don't know if the answer below is 100% or not. I doubt it is too far off though. We need a steady, reliable source of power. How many square miles of Windmills equal 1 Nuclear power plant? Or, how square miles of Solar Panels. Where are we going to put them? Best Answer -...

Do you think that this set of events could happen on Lake Erie for example? EVERY form of power production is dangerous in it's own way. We are running short of power in many areas. We have rolling "brown outs" in California and Florida often during summer months. The demand for power is...

Because I believe that this is just an excuse for some who do not like nuclear power to begin with. The government should not even be involved with the production of electricity. Sure we can, and likely will, learn things from this event. Don't build plants where a tsunami can hit them...

I-95 Bus Crash Caused By TT?

Trucks and truckers are an easy target. Everyone hates us. Blame the big, bad truck. It still may turn out to be a trucks fault but the automatic stone throwing is bad. If it is the driver he was looking for a scapegoat. Blame a truck, everyone will buy that story.

I-95 Bus Crash Caused By TT?

Another DIFFERENT update! Passengers on the bus stories contradict that of the driver of the bus. Official: Riders say NYC bus crash driver swerved NEW YORK – Passengers and witnesses to a New York City bus crash that killed 14 people are contradicting the driver's story that he was...

It did not take long for the "fear" to set in, longer than I thought though. All it took was one the most most extraordinary set of events that could ever happen to scare these people. There are not going to be many 8.9 earthquakes ever, world wide, and they are VERY unlikely in many parts...

    Worse that Gadhafi?

I have not heard what you government has to say about what is going on over there. Have you? Do they care? I know your intell people used to be pretty good years ago when I worked with them. I assume that they still are good. I have no way of knowing though.

    Cops!! LIVE!!

Well, we had our excitement for the day. A police car pulled up about a hundred feet away from us a bit ago and stopped. He sat there for about five minutes and then put his lights on. A truck across the was started to move. The cop got out and put his hand on his gun and yelled at the...

    Worse that Gadhafi?

I am not sure how much in the dark the intell agencies are or how much they are keeping quiet to protect sources. Our leadership in this country, I don't know about Canada, seems to be at a loss. Gates maybe be the only one holding things together here.

new guy heading out on wednesday

That is also why we always wear a CLEAN uniform when with a customer. Even if it is NOT a White Glove load. A clean neat appearance is VERY important. So is a clean truck, inside the cargo box or out. No matter how bad the weather the cargo area should always be neat, clean and ready to load.
