    Fact or Myth ?

I heard they did the same as Tri-State and decided not to work with NLM any more. One of their drivers said CTX claimed NLM was paying them less than the accepted bid on some loads. Sounded suspious to me and to him as well. CTX would certainly have legal recourse in that case.

    Canada PAPS

You will also be able to clear freight using FAST. I think it's only the big three right now. BRASS barcodes can still be used in some cases if the driver has a FAST card and the info has been faxed ahead.

Canada New Rules at Windsor Crossing

All freight will not be going into the U.S. as FAST loads. It does all have to be pre-arranged using either FAST or PAPS. If you don't have a FAST card, plan on spending some time getting across. I was at the Buffalo pre-processing center on Thursday and they were in the process of closing it...

Canada Someone should write a book(let)

Your carrier should have provided you with examples and instructions on the paperwork. What would be great is having the procedure while at customs the same at every port of entry. And it would be even better if it could be the same going into either country. Just imagine it..., the same...

Small Business Owners ~ Bush Wins ! We Win !

I guess we won't get to find out what Kerrys "plan" was. What a bummer.

    Canada Come on in...

Great addition to EO. Crossing the border is very intimidating the first couple times until you get comfortable with the procedures. I feel really sorry for the guys who come in the first time with no instruction at all from their company. They are told all they need is the invoice and have no...

Canada Canadian runs are the way to go!

Using PAPS to go into the U.S. is just like PARS and is up and running. Most of the time mine work, even Livingston lately! Maybe your carrier has not completed the process of getting on board with it. Be advised that some brokers are asking for 3 hours notice.

    Is This Guy An Expediter?

Un-freakin-believable! Do you think that might be the same guy who over-loaded that Yugo, or whatever it was, with lumber and drove it up the east coast?

    Written Contract

Expediting was my first experience as an independent contractor. Prior to that I was always an employee and never signed a contract to work. I think it's that way for most people.

    Fuel Prices!!!!! This is terrible.

Fuel is not 4 dollars in Canada. In U.S. money it is a little more than 2.20. More than here though, for sure.

John Kerry - Another Good Read.....

It seems to me that since Kerry is running for political office, it would make more sense to run on the record of his political career rather than what happened during 4 months of his life 30 years ago. If he hadn't been so persistant in bringing it to the forefront, it wouldn't have become such...

    Truck size and logbooks

What I have heard is that a state can have a law that is greater or more restrictive than federal, but not less than federal. So, while logging is not federally mandated for less than 10,000 GVW, a state can say we want vans to log, scale, ect.

    Van Revenue

I have a friend who went to Panther a few months ago with a cargo van and is absolutly kicking butt. 8 grand in May. I'm considering going, but my van is old and I'm not sure I want to buy a new one. There's a lot more to the story, but there is money to be made if you want to deal with the B.S.

    Miles Teams Make... Week, Month

Silverdollar, While I understand the point you are making, the difference here is we all have one thing in common, expediting. I have found that most of us don't mind talking about income. Those that do mind just don't talk about it. A newbie would much rather hear what a driver has to say than...

    Election 2004

I think Dubya needs to stick with Cheney. Stability is better than change at this point. I don't see McCain bringing anything to the table that would be a vast improvment. The cussing out issue has pretty much faded already, and from what I heard he had it coming. Talk radio is one of the best...

    Need advice on ConWay NOW

Does Con-Way still have the "foreign power" policy where a driver who is at home will get moved down on the board when an out of area driver posts? Back when a lot of expediters were hanging at the Citgo in Franklin,Ohio, there was a Con-Way driver who lived in the area that would come over...

New to the Forum, and some advice needed.

I heard the Duramax will be available in the vans for '05. The new, bigger front end that came out in '03 was to make room for it. I can't imagine being a team in a van. Mine gets awfully small after a couple weeks and I'm by myself.
