    no idle states

The refrigerator and freezer seem to use up the power the fastest. With our generator down again, we will turn off the lights and fan and open the windows, with just the fridge/freezer turned on, and after 2 to 3 hours the inverter starts beeping at us. Then we have to start the truck again...

    no idle states

That's what I'm wondering about too. I don't know all the in's and outs and if's, and's or but's about the whole set up and how it works. I'm just hoping it's more reliable than our stupid generator! lol

    no idle states

We are having to idle, again. Our generator died, again. It is such an annoyance. The next new trucks that our owner gets are going to have solar panels and gel batteries. He says the problems with the generators on his trucks gives him such a headache. Me too!

    GPS Systems?

As layoutshooter suggested, purchase a copy of the Rand McNally Trucking Atlas. It has listings in the front of each state's low clearances, restricted routes and scale locations. We always compare our gps suggested route against those listings. Also, keep in mind that it's not a complete...

    Storytelling 101

Cruzer has just been rescued from certain demise, though certain parts of his anatomy have been exposed and shrunk to tiny proportions because of the frigid water. The two headed black cat deftly walked across the taut rescue rope and is now standing on the shore dripping wet and smelling like...

    Do You Use Airtabs?

We had them on the last truck that we were in, Hino ST. They really helped with the stability of the truck when we were passed by semi's. I know they helped with mpg but I don't have any numbers. I wish we had them on this truck, also a Hino, just for the added stability.

    Storytelling 101

Always resourceful, Inkasnana grabs a frying pan and a rope from the truck and some of the good Michigan glue and runs to the edge of the water. She ties the frying pan to the rope and coats the back of it with a big glop of glue. Twirling the rope with the pan above her head a few times, she...

Make sure his head doesn't stick out of the top of the ball, otherwise he will just look like a weeble that wobbles but doesn't fall down! I'll be in the sleeper, let me know when shooting resumes.

Wow, that's a lot of questions! Reading back through past posts on the forum will provide you with a wealth of information. You can probably find answers to each one of your questions just by searching and researching the forums. You can get free showers for 50 gallons of fuel and yes, all...

    Storytelling 101

the two headed black cat decided it was time for a cat nap. The puppies, their bellies full of green beans and taters decided it was time for a game of chase your tail and Wellarmed remembered that he left all of his ammunition in Phil's truck. As he made his way back to where the truck was...

Nope, I don't recall ever having seen a commercial bus pulled over anywhere, and a lot of those drivers definitely need to slow down!

    Illinois 55 limit debate

I read somewhere that the speed limit for trucks on the OH turnpike was raised in an effort to get the trucks off of the other highways and back onto the turnpike after the state had raised the tolls. When the toll price went up, trucks started avoiding the turnpike and residents of the cities...
