I hope you don't think it was me who used the word "vigilante" to describe any of this. That was Cheri. I've seen the Charles Bronson movies - I know what a vigilante is. ;) Intervening to thwart a danger to yourself or to someone else is hardly vigilantism. Taking the law into your own hands by...

Which he views as private enterprise. When he got out of college he basically lived perpetually on unemployment while he campaigned hard for the removal of all time limits on unemployment compensation. He was on unemployment for virtually the entire decade of the 70s, while he spent all his time...

Despite the various and sundry avenues to failure, gun control has ultimately failed because of that pesky "shall not be infringed" part of the Constitution. Gun control legislation that infringes is ultimately stuck down by the courts, no NRA-owned legislators required.

    The Trump Card...

Democratic Socialism is not only a joke, that can never be fully implemented within a world economy, but it's a straight-up oxymoron, as democracy is not a way to distribute resources, because the non-producing majority will always, always, always vote for access to other people’s wealth (which...

The first time some good-intentioned responsible gun owner opens fire at a suspected criminal and kills someone, particularly if that someone is a kid in a car seat, gun control advocates get what they want.

Regarding the Oregon mass shooting, it's the guns not the shooter.

So does every other culture. Just like every other culture promotes eating food. And for the same reasons. Evolution and the survival of the species demands, among many things, reproduction, and eating food. It's not even cultural, it's universal, and by definition something that is universal...

Ah, yes, responsible gun ownership. There's nothing quite like the calm, cool and collected, utterly responsible actions of a responsible conceal and carry gun owner to flat out shut down the arguments of gun control advocates. Please note the implied <snort> Chicago (AFP) - A woman in suburban...

What companies are hiring company drivers right now?

The single most difficult adjustment in expediting that people coming from general trucking is the sitting. Frankly, most cannot make the adjustment and end up going back to general trucking. Part of it is the inability to get out of the employee mindset, part of it is the inability to fill down...

    Planned Parenthood's Problem vs. Capitalism

The premise is everything, as the percentage of people receiving unearned welfare benefits goes directly to how easy, or hard, it is to obtain them. If benefits are hard to get, as you claim, with all the strict rules and conditions, then a rather small percentage of people would A), even...

The firmware updates aren't bad, but the map updates can be a couple of gigs or more and can take hours to download. If cell data bandwidth caps are an issue, I'd wait and do it when you have a good WiFi connection. I have unlimited data, but for a Garmin map update I'll wait until I'm at home...

    GPS nuvi problem

Your use of "at all" combined with "almost always" is puzzling, as "I haven't found... at all" implies never, and "almost always" implies not always. In any case, +/- 400 feet hardly mean that it absolutely, positively will be off by 400 feet every time, all the time, no exceptions. I have seen...

    GPS nuvi problem

Elevation is important with hikers and bikers, but in a motor vehicle it's of limited use because of how elevation is determined in vehicle GPS units. The GPS units used by hikers and bikers use a barometric altimeter which, if properly calibrated by hand, will be within 10 feet of actual geoid...

    Planned Parenthood's Problem vs. Capitalism

OK, starting with the premise that benefits which are unearned are difficult to get, and knowing that anything difficult to obtain is a natural barrier for people in general (as people will usually take the path of least resistance, and the smallest difficulty will cause most to simply give up)...
