I'm surprised Frank Katz hasn't added to this. I would be cautious about doing doing it yourself. People like Frank go to Tax conferences several times a year and are up to date with the latest changes and strategies. So I would use a trucking tax preparer.

Yes, that seems rather high for just a 1099 tax return. Does that include bookkeeping ?
